Many visitors to the AF-L'ARTIGIANO IN FIERA International Handicraft Fair 2024 are interested in, sharing and purchasing Vietnamese products.

The 2024 AF-L'ARTIGIANO IN FIERA International Craft Fair will take place at the Exhibition Center in Milan, the capital of Lombardy, Italy's largest economic and cultural center, from November 30 to December 8. The fair will be attended by nearly 2,800 businesses from 90 countries around the world, including Vietnamese businesses. The world's largest handicraft fair is expected to welcome more than 1 million visitors in 10 days.

In order to promote, introduce, connect and develop distribution channels for OCOP products in foreign markets, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development organizes the Vietnam National Pavilion at the AF-L'ARTIGIANO IN FIERA International Handicraft Fair in 2024. The program is part of a series of tasks under the National Target Program on New Rural Development of the Central New Rural Coordination Office assigned to the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center to take charge of implementation.

With the theme “Vietnam OCOP Products: Convergence of Values ​​- Spreading Culture”, the Vietnam National Pavilion at the fair was arranged in a cozy, solemn atmosphere and imbued with Vietnamese cultural values ​​and images.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien shared that the Vietnam National Pavilion with an area of ​​nearly 100m2 has the participation of 8 typical enterprises, directly participating in displaying and introducing many unique and sophisticated Vietnamese handicraft products such as silk products, lacquerware, ceramic products, handicrafts made of horn, paper, wood, cowhide; handicraft products using environmentally friendly, recycled materials such as loofah, jeans; OCOP products are food and beverages such as tea, coffee, dried fruit, black garlic, turmeric starch, cashew nuts, products from coconut water, rice vermicelli...

The Vietnam national pavilion, combined with product experience and tasting services, along with activities of displaying images and videos promoting OCOP products associated with typical regional culture and typical rural tourism of Vietnam, helps promote and introduce Vietnamese OCOP products, typical handicraft products with export advantages, and typical Vietnamese craft village products to a large number of customers in the European region.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, participating in the fair also supports localities, businesses, cooperatives and OCOP entities to promote the image of tourism culture, cuisine, introduce, search and develop a network of customers interested in handicraft products, OCOP products, typical and potential foods of Vietnam in the Italian market in particular and Europe in general, contributing to promoting and introducing the culture, cuisine and image of Vietnam to the international market. Many visitors to the fair are interested in, sharing and buying Vietnamese products.

Within the framework of the fair, the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy coordinated with the delegation to organize a seminar on Vietnam - Italy Handicraft Cooperation with the participation of Mr. Beppe Pisani, President of the Federation of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises in the Fashion Sector of Lombardy; Mr. Jean Blanchaert, artisan, organizer and manager of the glass and ceramic art exhibition room; Mr. Walter Cavrenghi, Secretary General of the Italian - Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce (CCIV), and representatives of a number of craft organizations and Italian craft enterprises.

Through the seminar, speakers from both sides highlighted the strengths of each country's handicraft industry and discussed consumer trends and aesthetic trends to sustainably develop the handicraft industry of both sides.

In addition, the Embassy arranged for the delegation to meet with the Handicraft Federation of Vicenza city and visit some pottery workshops and handicraft workshops of the indigenous people.

Through the above activities, the image of Vietnamese handicraft products and OCOP products are widely promoted to Italian and international friends, creating a bridge for trade promotion, business cooperation and mutual investment.

The international handicraft fair AF-L'ARTIGIANO IN FIERA is held annually during the pre-Christmas and New Year shopping season and is highly appreciated by many countries and businesses. In particular, with a digital platform with more than 1 million registered members, the fair allows businesses to promote and sell their products throughout the year, advertise and maintain regular relationships with traditional and potential customers.

According to experts, Italy is one of the largest markets in the European Union (EU) for handicrafts, with a total annual trade turnover of more than 20 billion euros (about 21.05 billion USD).

The largest festival of the world's handicraft industry, held since 1996, is an ideal place for artisans from all over the world to introduce their products and the unique features of their country. Vietnamese enterprises have participated in the fair since 2000 to introduce Vietnam's strong products to international friends.
