Proud of 90 years of militia tradition

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the proud 90-year journey of the militia and self-defense force - the loyal and trustworthy mass armed force of the Party, State and people.

In Binh Phuoc province, the tradition of militia and self-defense was soon formed from the struggles of rubber workers at Phu Rieng, Loc Ninh, Xa Cam plantations... From the "core worker" groups, the local self-defense force quickly matured, playing a pioneering role in the General Uprising to seize power in 1945, participating in fighting against sweeps, protecting bases, and maintaining the revolutionary movement in the resistance war against the French.

Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ton Ngoc Hanh and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien presented flowers to congratulate the Traditional Day of the Militia and Self-Defense Forces.

In particular, during the resistance war against the US to save the country, the provincial militia and self-defense force left a strong mark in major campaigns such as Phuoc Long - Dong Xoai, Nguyen Hue campaign and the climax was the historic victory of Phuoc Long on January 6, 1975. This was the first victory to completely liberate a southern province, creating the premise for the Ho Chi Minh Campaign to successfully end the resistance war against the US and unify the country.

Through each historical period, the militia and self-defense force has always demonstrated its steadfast political will, solidarity, creativity, courage in overcoming all difficulties, and readiness to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Not only is it the core force in national defense, the militia and self-defense force is also a reliable support for local Party committees, authorities and people in maintaining security and order, preventing natural disasters, search and rescue and building new rural areas. With its glorious tradition and great contributions, the militia and self-defense force has been affirming its important position in the cause of protecting and building the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
