Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted received the Second Class Independence Medal

Implementing Decision No. 198/CP dated September 14, 1965 of the Government, in Nghe An from the 1965-1966 school year, the first special Math classes were established, and in the 1969-1970 school year, special Literature classes were established. This was the foundation for Nghe An province to decide to establish a specialized high school.

On October 15, 1974, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Nghe An province announced the Decision to establish the Gifted High School on the basis of merging the specialized high school classes specializing in Literature and Mathematics studying at a number of high schools in the province. This was the predecessor of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

After 50 years of school establishment, 60 years of specialized system, the scale of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has been constantly expanding; the school has excellently performed the task of discovering, training, and nurturing generations of elite and talented people and is an environment that lights the fire of dreams and aspirations, a place where the talents of Nghe An homeland converge. Currently, the school has 45 classes annually with a scale of more than 1,500 students.

With the motto: "Promoting tradition - Pioneering spirit - Conquering the peak", Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has inherited long-standing values, extending the journey of igniting passion, realizing the aspirations of Nghe An intellectuals, contributing to the development of the homeland and the country.

In the past time, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has trained nearly two thousand national excellent students and 68 students participating in international competitions.

In particular, in the past 10 years, the School has had 47 students participating in regional and international competitions, including 12 Gold Medals and 1 First Prize in the International Russian Language Olympiad Essay Writing Competition, 14 Silver Medals, 6 Bronze Medals and nearly 900 national excellent students. The number of students participating in and winning international prizes has covered all natural subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics.

The school has thousands of students who are excellent students of the province, hundreds of students who are valedictorians and salutatorians with high scores in the high school graduation exam and university entrance exam, and have been awarded Certificates of Merit by the People's Committee of Nghe An province. The school's students have also achieved high results in other intellectual playgrounds such as: winning First Prize in 2019 and Third Prize in 2021 in the "Road to Olympia" contest...
