On August 28, the Tax Department of District 7 - Nha Be District (HCMC) said that this unit has sent a document to the People's Committee of the city about the proposal to revoke the license to establish the American International Primary, Secondary and High School (commonly known as American International School) under the American International Education Joint Stock Company AIS.
At the same time, in July, this unit also officially sent a document to the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City requesting to revoke the license to establish the American International School.

According to the tax authority, the reason for the request for revocation is because AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company is being forced to execute a tax administrative decision.
The amount of tax, fines and late payment fees that AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company still has to pay as of the June 2024 closing date is more than 127 billion VND.
According to Article 37 of Decree No. 126/2020/ND-CP, the compulsory measure to revoke the enterprise registration certificate or business registration certificate or cooperative registration certificate or investment registration certificate or establishment and operation license or practice license or branch or representative office registration certificate is implemented when the tax authority cannot apply the compulsory measures prescribed in Points a, b, c, d, dd, e, Clause 1, Article 125 of the Law on Tax Administration or has applied these measures but still cannot collect enough tax arrears to the state budget or falls under the prescribed cases.
The American International School has been suspended from operation by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City from July 1, 2024 (suspension period of 12 months) due to failure to ensure teaching conditions, due to lack of financial resources, teachers, and staff.
As of August 24, more than 300 students had their parents transfer them to another school through the system, while about 700 students had not yet left. This afternoon, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training held a meeting with parents to continue providing guidance on this matter.
