Ministry of Finance proposes to extend more than 100,000 billion VND in taxes

(Dan Tri) - The total amount of tax expected to be extended this year is nearly 102,000 billion VND, according to the Ministry of Finance. These taxes must be paid by December 31st at the latest, so they will not reduce budget revenue.


The Ministry of Finance is seeking comments on a draft decree extending the deadline for paying value-added tax (VAT), corporate income tax, personal income tax and land rent this year.

Regarding VAT, the Ministry of Finance proposed a 6-month extension for tax payments in February, March and the first quarter; and a 5-month extension for tax payments in April, June and the second quarter. The total VAT payment extension is about VND62,000 billion.

Regarding corporate income tax, the Ministry proposed a 5-month extension for the provisional tax payment of the first and second quarters of this year's corporate income tax period. It is estimated that the provisional corporate income tax payment of the first and second quarters of this year's tax period to be extended is about VND36,000 billion.

For business households and individual businesses, to remove difficulties for business households and individual businesses, the Ministry proposed to extend the deadline for paying value added tax and personal income tax for the tax amount incurred by business households and individual businesses this year. The extended tax amount is about 350 billion VND.

Regarding land rent, the Ministry proposed to extend the deadline for 50% of the land rent payable by enterprises, organizations, households, and individual business households subject to regulations. The extension period is 6 months from May 31. The estimated amount of land rent to be extended is about 3,600 billion VND.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the extension will not reduce budget revenue, as these taxes must be paid by December 31 at the latest. The total estimated tax amount extended under the policies in this draft decree is nearly VND102,000 billion.
