According to the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, teachers and students in Ho Chi Minh City will be off until the 5th day of Tet, and on the 6th day of Tet they will return to school to teach and study as usual.

However, from the morning of February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), many teachers and staff of kindergartens in the city went to school to prepare to welcome students.

At Son Ca 14 Kindergarten, Phu Nhuan District, teachers wear the neatest and most flexible uniforms possible to clean the classrooms.

Kindergartens are rare in having male teachers, so the heavy and light work all fall to the female teachers, from rearranging the ornamental plants to cleaning the schoolyard and classroom floors, climbing high to decorate the school to make it more brilliant...

When the cleaning was finished, the teachers sat down, meticulously making toys for the students, rearranging the play corners to make them both eye-catching and neat...

Ms. Le Cam Linh, principal of Son Ca 14 Kindergarten, said: To create a joyful atmosphere at the beginning of the year when students return to school after Tet, the teachers have organized many games. These include group games in the schoolyard and games in the classrooms such as: Children ride the bike back to the station; Walking on stilts; Playing badminton; Jumping rope; Bouncing umbrellas; Throwing balls into the basket; Throwing rings (into bottles, animals); Dropping balls on the slide...

On the morning of the 6th, teachers will pick up students at the school gate and take them to the playground. After playing games, students will go to class to have activities and break the cake. Each class will have a Tet cake tray so that teachers can teach students about the traditional Tet customs of the Vietnamese people.

"From the 6th to the 10th, every day our school has group activities in the schoolyard for the children to play," Ms. Linh informed.

Similarly, at Sao Mai Kindergarten, Thu Duc City, teachers also returned to school on the morning of the 5th day of Tet to clean classrooms, wipe toy shelves, wash toys, put bedding (used for students to nap) out in the sun, and clean kitchen utensils...

Ms. Phan Thanh Huyen, principal of Sao Mai Kindergarten, shared: "After the morning, the teachers prepared everything neatly and cleanly to welcome students back to school. The characteristics of preschool age are different from those of high school students, so the classes will organize many fun activities for students to enjoy going to school."
