The head of the Central Foreign Affairs Department of the Communist Party of China affirmed that the country always puts Vietnam in a priority position in its neighboring foreign policy.
On February 18, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh paid a courtesy visit to Liu Jianchao, Head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, on the occasion of the beginning of his term of office in China.
At the meeting, both sides highly appreciated the positive developments in the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in recent times; agreed that under the direction and strategic orientation of the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries and the joint efforts of the ministries, branches and localities of the two countries, the Vietnam-China relationship is being continuously promoted in depth according to the "6 more" orientation. Substantial cooperation areas have achieved many specific and clear results.

The two sides agreed to continue maintaining the momentum of regular high-level exchanges and contacts; promoting the strategic guiding role of Party channel relations to continue developing healthy, stable and sustainable bilateral relations.
Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always attach importance to consolidating and enhancing friendly and cooperative relations with the Party, State and people of China; considering developing relations with China a top priority and a strategic choice in foreign policy.
The Ambassador emphasized that under the guidance of the two Parties' senior leaders, the two countries have continuously promoted their leading role and made important contributions to the overall bilateral relationship, fully demonstrating the uniqueness of the bilateral relationship.
Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh said that the Party and State of Vietnam expressed their willingness to join the Central External Relations Commission of the Communist Party of China in inheriting and promoting the achievements, striving to promote and serve high-level contacts well, in order to maintain strategic exchanges, consolidate political trust; coordinate to effectively implement cooperation mechanisms between the two Parties; promote bilateral cooperation to become increasingly in-depth, substantive and comprehensive, bringing benefits to the people of the two countries, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

On this occasion, the two sides informed each other about the development situation of each country and discussed a number of international and regional issues of mutual concern.
