Accordingly, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors and the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to drastically and synchronously implement solutions to prevent and control African swine fever (ASF) in the province; continue to inspect and urge ASF prevention and control in localities with the epidemic; organize training and guidance for veterinary forces and farmers to vaccinate pigs against ASF according to the instructions of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment strengthens quarantine work for transporting pigs and pig products out of the province according to regulations; strengthens activities at 2 animal disease control checkpoints in Tan Lap commune, Dong Phu district and Thanh Tam ward, Chon Thanh town to inspect and control vehicles transporting animals and animal products in and out of the province through the checkpoints, promptly detects violations and coordinates with competent authorities to handle according to regulations.
Based on reports from localities, the Department of Agriculture and Environment synthesizes and reports fully, promptly and accurately disease data on the Online Animal Disease Reporting System (VAHIS) and competent authorities in accordance with current regulations.
Relevant departments, branches and sectors direct units and functional forces to coordinate with departments, branches, sectors, units and People's Committees at district and commune levels to drastically and synchronously deploy solutions to prevent and control African swine fever in the province; strengthen control of the transportation of pigs and pig products in accordance with regulations; strengthen information and propaganda in many forms about the dangerous nature of ASF, the risk of disease recurrence and spread, disease prevention measures and the use of African swine fever vaccines, etc.
