Deploying the judging of the 5th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Building Journalism Award

On the morning of November 1, comrade Nguyen Hong Duong, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, chaired a conference to deploy the work of judging the 5th Quang Ninh Province Journalism Award on Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award) in 2024.

Implementing Plan No. 426-KH/TU dated June 21, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 1673/UBND-VHXH on responding to the 5th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Building Press Award - 2024. 18 district-level Party Committees have developed plans and official dispatches to respond to participate. The Provincial Media Center has developed a plan to participate in the 5th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Building Press Award - 2024 in conjunction with developing a synchronous, rich and profound propaganda plan on Party building work on the Center's media infrastructure; directing the assignment of specific tasks to departments and offices and encouraging the Center's team of reporters and journalists to actively respond to and participate in the Award. During the implementation of the Award, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Journalists Association, and the Department of Information and Communications issued documents urging localities, units, and central press agencies operating in the province to actively send quality works to participate in the Award.

By the end of October 29, 2024, the Organizing Committee had received 204 valid entries to the Award, in the categories of print, electronic, television, radio, and press photos. Of which, the Provincial Media Center had 103 entries; district-level Party Committees participated in the contest with 76 entries; Central press agencies with representative offices, resident reporters, and media cooperation with the province had 19 entries.

The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Standing Agency of the Award, issued the Award Judging Plan No. 146-KH/BTGTU, dated October 29, 2024. Accordingly, the preliminary judging will take place on November 1-2, 2024; the final judging will take place on November 5, 2024.

The award structure includes 1 Special Prize, 5 A prizes, 10 B prizes; 12 C prizes; 15 Encouragement prizes. In addition, there are 4 thematic prizes including: 1 prize for excellent works on organizing the implementation of Party Congress Resolutions at all levels; 1 prize for excellent works on innovating the Party's leadership and governance methods; 1 prize for excellent works on discovering typical examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; 1 prize for excellent works by authors who are workers, laborers, students. The Organizing Committee will unanimously select the final round press works, complete the dossier to participate in the 9th National Press Award on Party building in 2024, synthesize the report and send it to the Central Committee on schedule according to regulations.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Hong Duong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, requested the members of the four sub-committees to work with a spirit of urgency, impartiality, and seriousness to select the best journalistic works. In the process of evaluating the entries, it is necessary to pay attention to the balance between the quality of content and the form of expression, highly appreciating works that are exploratory, topical, and theoretical, especially those with critical topics. After this year's season, the Organizing Committee will also summarize and re-evaluate the organization work over the past 5 years, drawing on experience so that the 2025 season will be successful and increasingly widespread. Thereby, strongly promoting the role of the press and media in reflecting, encouraging and creating great consensus among the political system at all levels and the people in bringing the resolutions of the Party Committees at all levels into life, creating a foundation for effectively implementing political and social tasks in each locality, unit, as well as the province in general.
