On the morning of October 24, 2024, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Central Propaganda Department and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the second Forum "Press and businesses together for a prosperous and happy Vietnam" in 2024.
Comrades: Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; Pham Tan Cong, President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) chaired the forum.
Speaking at the forum, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, assessed that the press has contributed a lot to the development of Vietnamese enterprises in recent times. The press is a channel that reflects information from society and domestic consumers, helping businesses grasp full market information, adjust business policies and make appropriate decisions. The press has been and is an effective and timely bridge between businesses and the State.
Through information reflected in the press, authorities have an additional information channel to listen to businesses' opinions in a more timely and comprehensive manner.
However, building a sustainable cooperative relationship between the press and businesses still faces many difficulties, affecting the effectiveness of information and propaganda work.
This year’s forum has the theme “Improving the quality of economic and business information in the press”. At the forum, delegates discussed and shared issues related to improving the quality and effectiveness of economic and business information in the press to promote business development, contributing to the country’s economic development.
The forum discussed solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of information and propaganda on the economy, businesses and entrepreneurs, ensuring objectivity, honesty and fairness, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit in society, limiting negative phenomena and false and inaccurate information affecting businesses.
The forum is of great significance to both businesses and the press as it makes an important contribution to facilitating the business environment as well as building a modern, professional and humane press.
Some delegates mentioned the issue of building a more equal and transparent environment in the relationship of interests between the press and businesses, to avoid putting the press or businesses at a disadvantage.
Within the framework of the forum, delegates pressed the button to launch the new interface for the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry's website and awarded prizes for the program to vote for press works about entrepreneurs, businesses and sustainable business environment development.
The program aims to encourage and motivate journalists to join and share in building a favorable business environment for the development of enterprises and the country's economy.
