Dang Duong Minh Hoang: Wishing to contribute to the digital transformation of agriculture

The 2023 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award received 171 valid applications from 58 units in 10 fields, including: study; scientific research - innovation; labor - production; business - start-up; national defense; security and order; sports; culture and arts; social activities; state administrative management. At the first meeting, the Award Council voted by secret ballot to select 20 typical nominees for the online voting round, in 9 fields (the state administrative management field did not have nominations for the online voting round). The online voting round took place from February 20 to 26 with the voting system at: www.tainangtrevietnam.vn.

The field of labor and production has 2 typical nominees. They are Mr. Dang Duong Minh Hoang and Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, senior experts of the Application System Security Department, Viettel Cyber ​​Security Company, Military Industry and Telecommunications Group.

Mr. Dang Duong Minh Hoang is managing 50 hectares of rubber, pepper and avocado trees, applying the most modern technology in management, care and harvesting, such as: applying automatic irrigation systems; solar energy; surveillance cameras; drones; product introduction/digital diary; e-commerce... Mr. Hoang shared: With the desire to contribute to the digital transformation of agriculture in Binh Phuoc, Binh Phuoc Digital Agricultural Service Cooperative has connected advanced farmers in the province and businesses in Thai Binh, Bac Giang, Ben Tre provinces to establish the Cooperative. Currently, the Cooperative is the representative implementing the AutoAgri digital platform in management, monitoring, traceability, and digital transformation in agriculture.

Mr. Hoang added: The cooperative has digitized all members and piloted digitization of more than 1,400 cashew processing facilities in Binh Phuoc. In particular, in 2023, the cooperative signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate with the Provincial Farmers' Association, the Cooperative Union, the Department of Industry and Trade, and the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center to support digital transformation for farmers and businesses, connecting agricultural product chains to increase value.

Currently, the Cooperative has been granted a code for growing areas and officially exporting durian to China; the Cooperative's products such as avocado, durian, and cashew nuts have all achieved 4-star OCOP certification and are high-quality agricultural products, typical of Binh Phuoc province.

Sharing at the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Mr. Hoang hopes that there should be policies to support farmers in applying information technology to agricultural production, especially applying electronic diaries to help digital transformation in agriculture. On a macro level, popularizing the use of electronic diaries for farmers, helping localities systematize data, proactively connecting supply and demand; building a connection chain between farmers and the final purchasing channel, reducing intermediaries to bring stability to local products...

With many outstanding achievements in the field of labor and production, in 2022, Mr. Dang Duong Minh Hoang was honored by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union as an Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer; was awarded the Top 10 Promising Young Vietnamese Faces of 2022 by the Central Youth Union. In particular, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister for being a typical advanced person nationwide in 2023; and was in the top 20 typical startups of the Youth Start-up Award 2023.

The Council for the 2023 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award will continue to select 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces and 10 Promising Young Vietnamese Faces in 2023. The 2023 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award Ceremony will take place over 5 days, from March 20 to 24 in Hanoi. Individuals will receive certificates of merit from the Central Youth Union and award commemorative medals. Of which, the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award is 50 million VND/person; 20 million VND/person for Promising Young Vietnamese Faces.
