Awarding 5 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals at the 4th National Magic Festival

On the evening of November 10, after two days of exciting competition, the 4th National Magic Festival 2023 concluded with the awards ceremony held at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater.

The 4th National Magic Festival in 2023 is chaired by the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City.

This year, more than 40 acts registered to participate. After evaluation, the organizing committee selected 29 acts from 2 public circus units and 11 units, groups and artists operating under the socialized model to participate in the Festival.

Experts highly appreciated the award-winning performances because they were invested in from the ideas and scripts, had new forms of expression, and showed the young artists' desire to reach for creativity.

People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui - Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations - President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association - Head of the Steering Committee of the 4th National Magic Festival - 2023 delivered the closing speech.

People's Artist Ta Duy Anh, Chairman of the Jury, assessed the quality of the Festival. He said that the quality of this Festival has been clearly improved, with many innovative elements, especially among the 32 participating artists, there are many young magicians from many provinces and cities.

The gap in technical performance has narrowed between genres. "However, the festival still has some performances that lack creativity, technique and performance are not high, leading to poor results. In the future, when approaching the 5th festival, we expect the artists to make more efforts to improve their creative skills in a synchronized manner so that magic can develop further" - People's Artist Ta Duy Anh said.

People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui said: "Through the evaluation of the Jury, I hope that from this festival, magicians will gain more professional experience, continue to constantly improve their skills, and be more creative so that magic can make new advances, create new quality works, and contribute meaningful works to society, in order to improve the quality of art to serve the public and implement Resolution 23 of the Politburo: "Continue to build and develop literature and art in the new period".

Hopefully, art units and magic clubs will pay more attention to investing in facilities and training staff in a more professional manner to continuously develop the quintessence of this art form to serve the entertainment needs of the audience and participate in international integration."

People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui presented gifts to artists in difficult circumstances to Meritorious Artist Trinh Kim Chi - Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association - representative of Ho Chi Minh City Artists' Friendship Committee.

The Vietnam Stage Artists Association officially announced that the magic festival will be held every three years, and the Association will invite prestigious foreign experts to Vietnam to organize comprehensive training sessions for young magicians.
