Water puppet show for tourists

On April 6-7 (ie March 9-10 of the lunar calendar), at Thuy Dinh Stage, Khuon Muoi Lake, Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, a water puppet show will be held to serve people attending the Hung King's Commemoration Anniversary and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty 2025.

Play "King Hung teaches people to grow rice"

Artists from the provincial art troupe presented the play “King Hung teaches people to grow rice”. With elaborate staging, professional performances combining traditional music and skillful puppetry, they led the audience to a legendary story in the past when people did not know how to plow, grow rice to eat, only living on tree roots, wild animal meat and many kinds of wild fruits and vegetables they picked. The land along the riverbanks was enriched with alluvium every time the flood water rose. King Hung saw that the land was very good, so he called the people to find a way to build banks to keep the water. The king saw that wild rice was growing a lot, so he showed the people how to keep the seeds, sow the rice seedlings, when the seedlings grew green, they were planted in flooded fields. At first, the people did not know how to plant, so they asked the king. King Hung pulled the seedlings up, brought them to the flooded fields, waded down to plant for the people to see, and everyone followed suit.

Water puppet show attracts many tourists from all over the world

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Yen Thuy district, Hoa Binh province shared: “At the Hung Temple historical relic site, there are many cultural activities for visitors to experience. This morning, watching the water puppet show, I found it very interesting, the story is told vividly through dance performances along with folk music. Through cultural activities, visitors can understand more about the people, the land, and the legends of the land of the nation's origin”.

The water puppet show has 4 shows/day at the following times: 8:30, 10:30, 14:30 and 16:30.
