Việt NamViệt Nam22/09/2023

After a stressful day of work and study, many people in Bach Thuan garden village (Vu Thu) spend time cycling, immersing themselves in the fresh green space of the countryside. Not only improving health, cycling on cool country roads shaded by green trees gives people a particularly interesting and attractive experience and contributes to spreading and attracting tourists to the ecological garden village.

The Bach Tan cycling team, Chien Thang village, Bach Thuan commune (Vu Thu) organizes cycling around the garden village every day.

After suffering two strokes and poor health, nearly 10 years ago, Mr. Tran Van Hong, Bach Thuan commune, decided to invest in a sports bike and spend 1-2 hours a day cycling. Mr. Hong's initial purpose of cycling was to improve his health, but the more he experienced cycling, the more he was attracted by the tree-lined roads of his hometown. Every time he cycles, Mr. Hong always has full safety gear such as a helmet, shoes, and sportswear.

“Perhaps because my cycling style looked quite professional, in the early days, when I cycled on the roads in the commune, many people thought I was a foreign tourist, and excitedly raised their hands to greet me in English “Hello! Hello!”, I smiled and happily joked back “Hello!”, it was really interesting. Seeing me cycling, some villagers started to connect with me and we cycled together every evening. 8 years ago, I founded the Bach Tan cycling team of Chien Thang village. Up to now, the team has attracted more than 20 members, the oldest is nearly 80 years old, the youngest is over 30 years old. Every day, starting at 5 pm, we depart from the village cultural house, cycle around the main roads, the dike road of Bach Thuan commune, down to Tra Khe ornamental plant village, Tan Lap commune and then back. After 1 hour of cycling, we usually travel 18 - 19km each day. In addition to exercising, breathing the fresh, airy, green air of my homeland every day makes me feel very refreshed!" - Mr. Hong shared.

After 4 years of cycling with the Bach Tan cycling team, Ms. Pham Thi Mung, Bach Thuan commune shared: Cycling is a wonderful time for me. Being immersed in nature helps me relax and gives me a new, more comprehensive view of the beauty of my hometown. In addition to the village roads, we occasionally organize cycling experiences along the dike route to visit the historical site of Keo Pagoda, Tinh Xuyen Bridge, etc.

In addition to the Bach Tan cycling team, Bach Thuan commune currently has a number of small groups and hundreds of people participating in sports cycling in the early mornings or cool afternoons every day. The cycling movement of the villagers not only creates a beautiful image of the villagers with an active, positive lifestyle, diligently practicing sports, improving health, but also contributes to spreading and strongly attracting tourists from all over the country to experience cycling here.

Mr. Tran Van Hong, the captain of the Bach Tan cycling team, said: Many tourists coming to the garden village like to experience cycling here, among which I was most impressed by a Japanese tourist. He has participated in the cycling experience in Bach Thuan village with us 3 times, the most recent time was on the occasion of National Day September 2nd. He was extremely excited and delighted every time he got to cycle and admire the beautiful scenery of the Vietnamese countryside. He promised to come back to cycle with us.

With the alluvium of the Red River, fertile land, trees in Bach Thuan garden village are green all year round, creating a cool, fresh green space. Each house here usually has enough housing, garden, fish pond, creating a balanced ecosystem and bearing the characteristics of the old Northern countryside. The whole commune has nearly 20 typical garden houses, 13 ancient houses with traditional architecture, many historical and cultural relics such as: Tu Van pagoda, Bach Tinh communal house - pagoda, ancient ancestral halls of some families, some ancient trees over 100 years old...

In particular, in recent years, the roads in Bach Thuan have been expanded, paved and paved, making it convenient for locals and tourists to experience cycling in the garden village. While cycling, visitors can visit historical sites, ancient houses, visit garden houses, experience flower growing, bonsai pruning, chat and interact with locals.
