According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the number of domestic tourists is estimated at about 425,000, up 1.2% over the same period and international visitors are 38,800, up 3.2% over the same period.
The number of guests staying at accommodation establishments is estimated at 214,630, up 32.5% and room occupancy rate reached about 85%, up 6.3% over the same period.
The notable figure is that total tourism revenue is estimated at VND2,940 billion, up 1.7% over the same period.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the positive developments in tourism in the city come as the Department has deployed measures to tourist accommodation establishments and tourism businesses to ensure security and safety for tourists and improve the quality of tourism services.
One of the products attracting tourists to Ho Chi Minh City during the holiday is the "Program to visit the National Architectural and Artistic Relic of the Headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City" on August 31 and September 1, with nearly 2,000 domestic and international visitors.
The program aims to promote the history of the city's formation and development, contribute to building and developing the brand, and develop unique and distinctive tourism products associated with historical culture...
"The long holiday is the basis for a strong increase in tourists. The main target tourists are family groups, groups of young or middle-aged people who have not arranged time for summer travel, most of them travel domestically on their own" - said a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.
To stimulate tourism, many destinations in Ho Chi Minh City have had many promotional and incentive programs to stimulate tourism such as:
Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area offers 2,000 free entrance tickets, circus shows, water music and especially experiences and enjoyment of many rare fruit varieties such as American figs, Taiwanese (Chinese) Ruby guava, Indian red pomegranates...
Dam Sen Cultural Park offers free admission for those whose birthday falls on September 2nd, and a 50% discount for those whose birthday falls in September. There are also low-altitude fireworks displays, a series of art programs such as the "Colors of Five Continents" parade on the streets, along with many circus acts such as aerial balancing and ziplining.
Hotels in the city also have preferential packages of up to 60% for guests staying; increase the introduction of preferential room rates for guests booking long term, additional products such as discounts on spa services, bars, shuttle buses, etc.
