During the 4-day National Day holiday on September 2, the Vietnamese tourism market continued to receive positive signals with 3 million visitors, an increase of 20% over the same period, and the number of international visitors increased sharply.

During the 4-day National Day holiday on September 2 this year (August 31 - September 3), it is estimated that the tourism industry nationwide served about 3 million tourists (an increase of 20% over the same period in 2023). The average room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation establishments reached 56% (an increase of 1.85% over the 2023 holiday period), with the occupancy rate reaching over 60% on September 1 and 2 alone.
Due to the basically favorable weather in all three regions, the indicators of customer service and total revenue from tourists in the provinces/cities all increased significantly compared to the same period last year. Some localities recorded high increases such as Binh Thuan with more than 3 times the total number of visitors.
Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City is expected to welcome and serve 980,000 visitors (up 2% over the same period in 2023), Hanoi: 672,900 (up 5%), Hai Phong: 580,000, Khanh Hoa: 578,219 (up 2%), Ba Ria - Vung Tau: 555,984 (up 4.0%), Quang Ninh: 455,000 (up 19%), Thanh Hoa: 395,700 (up 20.4%), Binh Thuan: 385,000 (up 3.3 times), Nghe An: 320,000 (up 19%), Da Nang: 308,000 (up 21.2%), Lao Cai: 196,500, Kien Giang: 159,176 (up 25.6%), Lam Dong: 132,000 visits (up 10%), Thua Thien Hue: 130,000 visits (up 32.7%)...
The number of international tourists to key tourist destinations has increased, which is a positive sign for the inbound tourism season from October. International visitors mainly come from the markets of Korea, China, Taiwan (China), India, Europe, and the US, with a stay of about 4-5 nights.
Typical localities include: Da Nang is estimated to welcome 91,000 visitors (up 15.3%); Hanoi is estimated to welcome more than 58,900 visitors (up 35.8%); Khanh Hoa receives 254 international flights with over 48,000 visitors; Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to welcome 38,800 visitors (up 3.2% over the same period); Ba Ria - Vung Tau is estimated to welcome 25,560 visitors; Thua Thien Hue is estimated to welcome 16,000 overnight visitors (up 54.3%); Kien Giang is estimated to welcome 15,570 visitors (up 271.4%); Lao Cai is estimated to welcome more than 13,470 visitors, up 46.4%...

The travel service business has been prepared early, along with the continued application of the stimulus program "Vietnamese people travel to Vietnam - Vietnam I love", and the implementation of promotional and discount programs have contributed to creating a vibrant final holiday season of the year.
High-end tourist accommodation systems in famous tourist destinations such as Ha Long, Da Nang, and Binh Thuan have offered many promotions and no holiday surcharges to attract tourists.
For air transport, the total number of flights provided during the holiday is estimated at more than 4,250 flights, an average of 840 flights/day, an increase of 3.5% over the same period in 2023. The Railway industry served about 130,000 train passengers, an increase of about 10% over the same period in 2023. On the peak day (August 30), there were 10 trains on the North-South route: 5 Hanoi - Saigon flights, 1 Hanoi - Da Nang flight, 2 Hanoi - Dong Hoi flights, 2 Hanoi - Vinh flights.
To best meet the needs of tourists for sightseeing, entertainment and relaxation, localities have coordinated with local tourism businesses to proactively innovate and develop diverse and attractive tourism products, while organizing many cultural events, festivals, arts, promotional programs, accompanying service packages, etc. to attract and increase spending and length of stay of tourists.
Notably, in Moc Chau (Son La), the atmosphere of Independence Day filled the streets with xoè dances, dances... Than Uyen (Lai Chau) with the program "Sparkling colors of Than Uyen". The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Hanoi) with the highland market "Happy Independence Day".

It can be said that this year's National Day holiday has ended with positive results in tourism activities. Domestic tourism continues to have high growth, international tourism is gradually regaining growth momentum. This is a positive signal for the year-end tourist season and the inbound tourist season of Vietnam tourism.
