Sputniknews quoted Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui as saying that Beijing hopes Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China in 2024.

Ambassador Truong Han Huy added that President Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping plan to meet several times this year.

Previously, in a phone call on February 8, the Kremlin leader affirmed to President Xi Jinping that Russia supports the "One China" principle.

The Chinese leader also called on the two countries to pursue close strategic coordination and protect each country's sovereignty, security and development interests, resolutely opposing interference by external forces in their internal affairs.

“We have overcome many challenges and difficulties together. Looking to the future, China-Russia relations are facing new opportunities for development,” Xi Jinping emphasized.

Regarding President Putin's foreign travel schedule, Russia's state news agency RIA Novosti quoted a source in Ankara on February 7 as saying that the country's head of state could visit Turkey in late April or early May.

Last week, a Turkish official revealed that Mr. Putin would visit Türkiye on February 12.

RIA Novosti quoted the office of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying that during his upcoming visit to the country, President Putin plans to discuss the roadmap of the gas hub project proposed by Moscow on Turkish territory.
