Compared to the 5th rural and agricultural census 10 years ago, the 6th census is larger in scale and more detailed. The 2025 rural and agricultural census collects information for 30 days, from July 1, 2025 to July 30, 2025. Preliminary results will be announced in December 2025. Official results will be announced in March 2026.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De said: In Nghe An, the Steering Committee for the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census has directed the completion of a number of preparations for the census; Pilot rural and agricultural surveys in 2025 in the two districts of Dien Chau and Do Luong; The survey ensures full coverage of all types of enterprises, cooperatives, farms and diverse agricultural, forestry and fishery households.

As of December 17, 2024, the province had 20/20 districts, towns, and cities establishing district, city, and town steering committees with 171 members; 18/20 districts establishing full commune-level steering committees, with 2,376 members. Nghe An will closely follow the direction of the Central Steering Committee to successfully carry out this important census.

In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh - Head of the Central Steering Committee for the Rural and Agricultural Census emphasized: The 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census is very important. Therefore, the Government requires ministries, branches and localities to focus on directing the effective implementation of this 6th census.
