(NLDO) - On the afternoon of December 6, General Secretary To Lam received a group of international experts and scientists who came to Vietnam to attend the 4th VinFuture Award Ceremony.
Pleased to meet and exchange ideas with scientists who came to Vietnam to attend the 4th VinFuture Award Ceremony, General Secretary To Lam shared the goal of becoming a developed country with an upper-middle income by 2045, with the driving force based on science and technology. The General Secretary affirmed the determination to remove institutional barriers to create conditions for Vietnamese science and technology to catch up with the world.

Listening to the sharing of scientists and leading experts in many fields, General Secretary To Lam said he will study the contributions and hopes that scientists will continue to cooperate closely with Vietnam.
General Secretary To Lam asked scientists to spend time advising on building policies for science, technology and innovation development, choosing orientations for modern technology fields and attracting talent so that Vietnam can soon complete the legal framework and focus on strategic investment. Vietnam really wants to have Vietnamese artificial intelligence, a large regional and world data center in Vietnam to demonstrate the cultural traditions, history, Vietnamese people and the development of Vietnam.
General Secretary To Lam also asked scientists and professors to continue supporting Vietnamese universities, research institutes and enterprises to develop high-quality human resources; strengthen long-term research cooperation activities with scientists and major research centers in Vietnam, and give priority to receiving Vietnamese students to work and research together.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam is committed to actively participating in the progress of the times and responsibly participating in human civilization and the global economy.
On behalf of the VinFuture Award Council, Professor Richard Henry Friend, Chairman of the VinFuture Award Council, expressed his deep gratitude for General Secretary To Lam's special attention to leading international scientists and experts, especially the famous scientists honored in 2024. The Professor affirmed the international stature of the VinFuture Award, the important and practical significance of the research and contributions of the scientists awarded this year, especially in promoting global cooperation, connecting great ideas, inspiring passion and creativity for the young generation in the mission of serving humanity, contributing to solving global challenges, for a better society and life.
International scientists and experts also highly appreciated the vision, major orientations and determination of the Party and Government of Vietnam in developing and utilizing science, technology and innovation to create strategic driving forces for strong breakthroughs. Scientists also presented ideas and proposals on issues of building an AI ecosystem, energy transition, green economy, digital economy, research and development, human resource training, technology application in agriculture, transportation, etc., gradually making Vietnam a bright spot in new technology fields in the region and the world.
