Speaking at the reception, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the important significance of Comrade Dong Jun's visit, demonstrating the high regard of the Chinese Party, Government and Army for the good traditional friendship between the two Parties, two States and the two Armies, contributing to concretizing the high-level common perception on strengthening defense and security cooperation as one of the important pillars of Vietnam-China relations.
General Secretary To Lam conveyed his regards and best wishes to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping; congratulated China on its great achievements over more than 40 years of reform and opening up, and in 2024, completing the “first 100-year” goal, moving towards the “second 100-year” goal, making a positive contribution to peace and stability in the region and the world.
Minister Dong Jun expressed his pleasure in visiting Vietnam; respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to General Secretary To Lam; congratulated the important achievements that Vietnam has made in recent times, as well as the achievements that the Vietnam People's Army has made in 80 years of construction and growth; expressed his belief that under the steadfast leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will certainly gain many new great achievements in the cause of renovation and socialist construction, successfully realizing the two goals of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and the founding of the country.
In a sincere and friendly atmosphere, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Party, State, Army and People of Vietnam always appreciate the great support of the Party, State, Army and People of China in historical periods; highly appreciate the positive and remarkable development of the relationship between the two parties, two countries and two armies; defense cooperation has been promoted by both sides in an increasingly practical and effective manner, contributing to consolidating political trust, solidarity and friendship between the two parties, two countries and two armies, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries, actively contributing to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
The General Secretary suggested that the two countries’ Ministries of National Defense and Armies increase exchanges and meetings at high and all levels; effectively implement existing mechanisms as well as research and promote cooperation in new areas of potential cooperation; expand cooperation in the fields of political and ideological education and cadre training; strengthen border cooperation, better control and resolve disagreements at sea in accordance with high-level common perceptions and international law.
Minister Dong Jun affirmed that China always attaches importance to the traditional friendship between the two Parties, two States, and the two armies; the Chinese People's Liberation Army is ready to thoroughly implement the high-level common perception, together with the Vietnam People's Army, promote substantive and comprehensive cooperation, contributing to building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
