On December 2-3 in Khanh Hoa, the Navy organized the 2024 Mass Arts Festival in Region II - Khanh Hoa with the theme "Vietnam People's Navy continues to write the heroic epic".
The festival attracted 295 male and female actors from 10 Southern Navy units, including: Naval Region 3 Command, Naval Region 4 Command, Naval Region 5 Command, Saigon New Port Corporation, Naval Technical College, Brigade 189, Brigade 954, Brigade 83, Regiment 196 and Naval Division 129.

Within the framework of the program, the mass art teams performed many pieces praising the Party, beloved Uncle Ho, the tradition of the army, the Navy, and the aspiration to contribute, build and protect the Fatherland. The works also reflected profound changes in awareness, actions, ethics, lifestyle, regularity, discipline, military culture of the army and the solidarity between the army and the people; honoring the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers" in performing the task of training, combat readiness, and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. The performance forms were diverse and rich with genres of singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, stage skits, etc.
Speaking at the Festival, Colonel Ho Thanh Hoan, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Navy, said: The Festival is an opportunity for units to promote the movement to build a cultural environment in depth and solidly, contributing to protecting the Party's ideological and cultural battlefield, building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity; building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern Navy, worthy of being the core force to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland in the new situation.
The festival is also a basis for evaluating the results of leadership, direction, and organization of cultural and artistic activities of agencies and units; training and exchanging experiences for cultural management staff. At the same time, promoting the movement of composition and artistic performance skills for officers and soldiers at the grassroots level; praising and rewarding collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in cultural and artistic movements of the entire Army, constantly improving the spiritual life of soldiers.

At the end of the Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 7 Flags of Excellent Units; presented Certificates of Merit to 3 units with good achievements, 16 excellent performances, 4 performance programs imbued with national cultural identity, 10 excellent actors, 14 art cores with outstanding achievements in the period 2019-2024 and 4 collectives, 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in advising, organizing and serving the festival.
At the Festival, the mass art troupe of the Naval Region 5 Command was awarded the Excellent Unit Flag; 2 excellent performances, 1 excellent actor and 1 excellent art core for the period 2019-2024 were awarded Certificates of Merit. The troupe’s 6 performances were in the following genres: singing, dancing, music, and stage skits with the theme “The Fatherland and the Southwestern Marine Soldiers”. In particular, the dance “Overcoming the Storm” and the song “Going Out to Sea” were highly appreciated by the jury for their artistry, ideological value, and propaganda effectiveness. |
