Thousands of Ho Chi Minh City citizens eagerly join the army

Kinhtedothi – On the morning of February 13, Ho Chi Minh City held a military enlistment ceremony for 2025. Accordingly, 4,003 citizens performed military service (including 3 women) and 987 citizens performed police service.


2,049 citizens volunteered to do military service.

In 2025, the military enlistment ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City will be held at 22 locations (21 districts and Thu Duc City), the main location in District 7 will be broadcast live.

In 2025, the total number of citizen conscription orders issued was 4,197, of which 4,003 citizens (4,000 men, 3 women) were officially called up, and 194 were reserved (accounting for 4.85% of the target) in accordance with regulations. Of which, 110 were party members, reaching 2.75% (there were 97 official party members, accounting for 2.42% and exceeding the set target).

There are 1,902 citizens with intermediate, college and university degrees (47.51%); 3,358 citizens with health class 1 and 2 (83.89%). The highlight of 2025 is that the number of citizens who volunteered to join the army was 2,049 people (51.19% of the target).

For citizens performing public security duties, in 2025 there will be 987 targets. In terms of health, type 1 is 25 citizens (2.53%), type 2 is 843 citizens (85.41%), the rest have health type 3 (12.06%). In terms of political standards and qualifications, there are 22 party members (2.23%), 186 university graduates (18.84%), 51 college graduates (5.17%) and 9 vocational secondary school graduates (0.91%).

Regarding military rear work, in 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will do a good job in this regard for young people joining the army with a total support amount of nearly 27 billion VND, on average each citizen leaving for military service will receive a gift worth 6,550,000 VND.

Also on the day of military handover on February 13, according to the reporter, in District 8, this work was carried out quickly, neatly and safely. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Member of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Labor Federation; Colonel Nguyen Cong Anh - Deputy Political Commissar of the City Command; Mr. Tran Thanh Tung - Secretary of the District Party Committee of District 8; Mr. Vo Thanh Kha - Chairman of the District 8 People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches of the City and localities.

In 2025, District 8 will have 251 young people joining the army (of which 207 citizens will join the military service, 44 citizens will join the police service), sent to the following units: Gia Dinh Regiment (Ho Chi Minh City Command), Infantry Division 5 (Military Region 7), Armored Technical School (Ministry of National Defense), Reconnaissance Battalion 47 (Military Region 7), Ho Chi Minh City Police.

On behalf of the leaders of District 8, Mr. Vo Thanh Kha - Chairman of the People's Committee of District 8 spoke to encourage the new recruits before leaving for military service: "Performing military and police service to protect and build the Fatherland is both an obligation and a responsibility of the youth of the new era; it is a sacred and noble honor for oneself; at the same time, it is an honor for the family, and a pride of District 8.
