In a clear voice introducing to the officers and soldiers, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Hieu, Political Commissar of Battalion 42, said that during the General Offensive and Uprising of Spring Mau Than 1968, comrade Kieu Duy Cu (Battalion 42, Information Brigade 23) was in charge of the information team of 4 people, ensuring a 10km long line on open terrain, constantly attacked by enemy aircraft and artillery, and constantly searched by commandos.

When the communication line was broken, knowing that the enemy was searching, comrade Kieu Duy Cu was still determined to find a way to reconnect the line. When discovered and shot by the enemy, to protect the line, he ordered his teammates to retreat to the information station, while he stayed behind to fight and lure the enemy to another direction. Despite being wounded, he fought with his bare hands with the enemy and bravely sacrificed himself.
Generations of Brigade officers and soldiers have been intelligent, brave, fought, and sacrificed heroically, contributing to the Brigade's tradition of "brave fighting, dedicated work, close solidarity, and smooth communication".
