Sharing economic model between Dong Nai and Pinar del Río (Cuba)

Delegation of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee held talks with leaders of Pinar del Rio province.

During the meeting with the First Secretary of Pinar del Río Province, Yamilé Ramos Cordero, and Governor Eumelín González Sánchez, the two sides had an in-depth discussion on the potential for cooperation in many fields, especially investment, economic development and sharing of experiences in economic model innovation.

The Cuban side highly appreciated Vietnam’s experience in promoting grassroots initiatives to promote sustainable development. The two localities also agreed to promote the exchange of business delegations to learn about the market and move towards establishing practical cooperation agreements between businesses of the two countries.

On this occasion, Dong Nai province donated 100,000 USD to support Pinar del Río province in implementing the project "Urban Resilience Management and Risk Reduction".

The project aims to enhance the resilience of populations in areas prone to typhoons and cyclones, particularly in the city of Pinar del Río and the districts of La Palma and Viñales. The support is expected to improve housing conditions, increase food production capacity, and restore essential services after natural disasters.

Dong Nai supports Pinar del Río (Cuba) with 100,000 USD to develop an urban risk reduction project.

Previously, the delegation of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee had a meeting with Mr. Emilio Lozada García, member of the Central Committee, Head of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee. Mr. Emilio Lozada García believes that the cooperation between localities of the two countries will continue to deepen the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cuba. He hopes that Dong Nai and Pinar del Rio provinces will soon develop a specific action plan to effectively implement the signed cooperation agreement, especially in the fields of youth exchange, connection between political and social organizations and trade and investment cooperation.

Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son affirmed that the province will actively promote practical cooperation activities, expanding to many fields, especially economy and investment, in line with the direction of the Vietnamese Party and State leaders in strengthening ties and supporting Cuba.

The delegation of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee met with the President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP).

During the working trip, the delegation of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee met with President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), Cuban Hero Fernando González Llort. The two sides agreed to continue promoting people-to-people exchanges, enhancing education for the younger generation about the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, contributing to nurturing the spirit of intergenerational solidarity between the two peoples.

The delegation also laid flowers before the statue of President Ho Chi Minh at the park named after him in the capital city of Havana, visited the Vietnamese Embassy and surveyed a number of socio-economic and medical facilities in Pinar del Río province.
