Temporarily suspend eco-tourism and recreational fishing activities in the core zone of U Minh Thuong National Park.

On the afternoon of April 9, Mr. Dang Thanh Sang - Director of the Center for Ecotourism, Environmental Education and Rescue, and Development of Organisms of U Minh Thuong National Park (Kien Giang) said that the center has just announced the temporary suspension of sightseeing, ecotourism and recreational fishing activities in the core area of ​​U Minh Thuong National Park.

Currently, the fire level in the core zone of U Minh Thuong National Park is level III, on the dykes at level IV (dangerous level), there is a very high risk of forest fires. In light of the above situation, the Center for Ecotourism, Environmental Education and Rescue, and Development of Organisms of U Minh Thuong National Park announced the temporary suspension of sightseeing, ecotourism and recreational fishing activities in the core zone of U Minh Thuong National Park from 5:00 p.m. on April 10.

“When the core area of ​​U Minh Thuong National Park is no longer at risk of forest fires, the center will develop a plan to request permission to continue to open for visitors, tourism and recreational fishing to resume normal activities and will make a later announcement. For the administrative service area, the wildlife rescue area of ​​U Minh Thuong National Park will continue to serve normal wildlife rescue activities,” said Mr. Sang.
