One of the events that is attracting deep attention from the press nationwide is the issuance of Conclusion 126 by the Politburo and the Central Party Secretariat on February 14, 2025 on a number of contents and tasks to continue to arrange and streamline the organization of the political system in 2025, including contents directly related to press agencies.
Implementing the Conclusion of the Politburo and the Secretariat, with a spirit of utmost urgency, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission issued Official Dispatch 34 dated February 17, 2025 on directing the implementation of Resolution 18-NQ/TW, term XII, for press agencies of provinces and cities.
Accordingly, the functions, tasks, and organizational arrangements of press agencies will be reviewed in the direction of maximum streamlining, maintaining only really necessary units. Specifically: localities have plans to arrange and merge the Party Committee and radio and television stations to ensure adherence to the Party's policies, viewpoints, and regulations and the State's laws. The arrangement of the apparatus of the Party Committee press agency and local radio and television stations needs to overcome the overlapping of functions and tasks; streamline the apparatus; focus investment resources; ensure that the goal of the press agency after the merger and consolidation is to operate better and perform more effectively the task of information and propaganda; not let the arrangement and consolidation affect the implementation of political information and propaganda tasks...
Thus, the guiding viewpoints, objectives, requirements as well as tasks and solutions for the organizational arrangement of press agencies have been clearly stated. This continues to be an important and necessary solution, consistently demonstrating the high political determination, great efforts and drastic actions of the Party to successfully realize the policy of innovation and organizational arrangement of the political system to be streamlined, strong, efficient, effective and efficient.
The directives and guidance documents of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission also demonstrate the special concern of the Party and the State for press activities - an important factor, closely related, directly serving the work of information, propaganda, political and ideological education as well as adequately meeting the information needs of all classes of people. At the same time, it places very high demands on press agencies and journalists in the current period. That is not only to ensure synchronization, streamlining, suitability, and unity in organizational structure but also to continuously improve professionalism, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency in professional activities; not only to orient, encourage, and motivate but also to require from journalists a spirit of initiative, volunteerism, setting an example, and a motivation to strive actively and tirelessly.
Hopefully, with the spirit and momentum of a "revolution", the important solutions and necessary "push" above will become a positive driving force to strongly promote the organization and professional activities of press agencies to continue to be consolidated, improved and developed in a professional, humane and modern direction, meeting the practical requirements of the country in the new era - the era of national development.
