Tran Ngoc Lien was a leading artist in the Chinese entertainment industry in the 1980s, playing Tieu Chieu in The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber (1978), Vuong Ngu Yen in Thien Long Bat Bo (Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils) (1982), Tieu Long Nu (The Return of the Condor Heroes) (1983), and Hoang Dung in The Legend of the Condor Heroes (1988). Among them, Tran Ngoc Lien's role as Tieu Long Nu was highly appreciated by experts and audiences. Since TVB's Danh Vien Vuong Toc (2012), the artist has not released any new works.
