Accordingly, the admission scores for grade 10 of some public schools in Dak Lak have decreased by 1-2 points. Tran Dai Nghia High School (Buon Don District) has adjusted from 31 to 29 points, and Le Duan High School (Buon Ma Thuot City) has adjusted from 32 to 30 points.
In addition, some schools reduced their admission scores by 3-4 points. Specifically, Pham Van Dong High School (Krong Ana District) adjusted from 27 to 23 points, Nguyen Chi Thanh High School (Lak District) adjusted from 28 to 25 points.
Dak Lak lowers the admission score for grade 10 (additional admission) for public high schools, school year 2024-2025.
Along with that, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province requires public high schools to consider admission with adjusted admission scores to notify students on the school's enrollment registration list who have enough additional admission scores to urgently complete admission procedures. No later than 11:00 a.m. on July 29, 2024, schools must send results to the Department.
On the other hand, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training requested high schools and general schools with many levels to create favorable conditions for students who have passed the supplementary admission to withdraw their applications to complete admission procedures according to their wishes, avoiding causing difficulties for students and their parents.
Along with that, the provincial Department of Education requires schools to complete enrollment work before July 31, 2024, send results to the Department for approval and issue certificates of admission according to regulations.
For students who do not pass the entrance exam to grade 10 of high school, the school guides students and their parents to register to study the high school continuing education program at the Center for Continuing Education - Vocational Education or to study the high school continuing education program combined with vocational training at secondary schools and vocational colleges.
Previously, on June 23, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province approved the admission scores and the number of students admitted to grade 10 of public high schools organizing entrance exams for the 2024-2025 school year.
According to the decision approving the admission scores and the number of successful candidates, 9 high schools have very low entrance scores. In addition to 2 schools (Buon Ma Thuot High School, Le Quy Don High School), the entrance score is 15.75 points. The remaining schools have an entrance score of only 5-6 points for 3 subjects (Math, Literature, Foreign Language).
Of which, Cu M'gar High School (6.0 points); Ea H'leo High School (6.0 points); Ngo Gia Tu High School (5.5 points); Krong Ana High School (5.0 points); Buon Ho High School (5.5 points); Phan Boi Chau High School (5.5 points); Nguyen Binh Khiem High School (5.25 points).
Although the benchmark scores for grade 10 were a "big surprise", many schools failed to meet their enrollment targets. The total number of students admitted in the above exam was 3,893. Meanwhile, the total enrollment target assigned by the Department of Education and Training to the 9 public schools mentioned above was 4,572. The number of students admitted was 679 students short of the target.
On July 19, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training announced a "lowering" of the additional admission score for grade 10 at Buon Ma Thuot High School and Le Quy Don High School (the entrance exam school) by 13 points (the previous admission score for grade 10 at these two schools was 15.75 points).
Mr. Do Tuong Hiep, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that students with an exam score of 13 points and no failing score (1 point or less) will be admitted to additional recruitment schools, and the Department has calculated enough quotas for them.
