The coffee festival with the theme "Buon Ma Thuot - World Coffee Destination" will take place from March 9-13, 2025 in Buon Ma Thuot City and some localities in the province.
Enhancing the position of Vietnam's coffee industry
The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 will take place from March 9-13, 2025 as a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory Day, the liberation of Dak Lak province (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025). This is also an important event, contributing to promoting the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand, building the image of Buon Ma Thuot city as "Coffee City of the World". At the same time, it contributes to enhancing the position of the Vietnamese coffee industry in the international arena and promoting the socio-economic development and tourism of Dak Lak province; honoring coffee growers, processors and traders.

The festival will have 17 official activities such as: Opening and Closing Ceremonies; Digital Content Creation Contest to promote the Coffee Festival on the Internet; Coffee and OCOP Products Exhibition Fair; Specialty Coffee Roasting Competition; International Trade Conference - Connecting and Elevating Vietnamese Coffee; Buon Don Elephant Festival; Lak District Canoe Racing Festival; Travel Journey; Street Festival; Farmers' Competition; Light Festival; Coffee Camp; Free Coffee; Groundbreaking Ceremony of Trung Nguyen Legend Energy Coffee Factory.
To best serve the free coffee needs of the people and tourists at the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City calls on reputable coffee production and processing enterprises in the area to join. Up to now, many enterprises have registered to participate in serving tens of thousands of free cups of coffee to the people and tourists during the festival days.

Buon Ma Thuot is known as the “Coffee Capital of Vietnam”, with the largest area and coffee output in the country, with an area of about 210,000 hectares, annual harvest output reaching more than 520,000 tons, accounting for more than 30% of the national output. The province’s coffee has been exported to hundreds of countries and territories around the world.
After 8 times of organization, Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival has become a prominent event of the Vietnamese coffee industry, having a great influence and leaving a good impression on the people, domestic and international tourists. Inheriting those successes, Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee in coordination with the Central Ministries and Branches continues to organize the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival with the Festival theme: "Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of World Coffee".

Dak Lak is known as the “capital” of coffee in Vietnam, with the largest coffee area and output in the country (about 210,000 hectares), with an annual harvest of more than 520,000 tons (accounting for more than 30% of the country's coffee output). Dak Lak coffee has been exported to hundreds of countries and territories around the world. Coffee is an agricultural product that plays a very important role in socio-economic life, providing a source of livelihood for people, especially people in the Central Highlands in general and Dak Lak in particular.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the current high coffee price is a very good sign for farmers in the Central Highlands; however, the province's viewpoint is not to expand the coffee area but to focus on improving quality. To do this, by 2030, Dak Lak will focus on improving product quality from production to processing. Currently, Dak Lak has 70 - 80% of the coffee area produced according to domestic and international quality standards. This is an important foundation in promoting quality improvement from the production stage.
In addition, Dak Lak is also focusing on attracting investors to increase the proportion of deep processing, exploiting the remaining large space in this field. Dak Lak hopes that through the 9th festival, it will attract many investors to learn about and invest in the field of deep processing, contributing to increasing the value of coffee products as well as the economic growth of the province, making Dak Lak coffee one of the pillars of sustainable economic growth of the province.
| To concretize the strategy of developing deep-processed coffee, within the framework of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, Trung Nguyen Group Joint Stock Company will coordinate with the province to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of Trung Nguyen Legend Energy Coffee Factory. This is Trung Nguyen's first factory in the field of deep processing, with a total investment of more than 2,000 billion VND; it is expected that within two years, the factory will be put into operation in phase 1 to exploit the deep processing sector, contributing to increasing the value of Vietnamese coffee. |
