In the past time, the people have always been unanimous with the local Party committee and government to build Kon Brong village to reach the new rural village goal in 2024.

Mr. A Brich confided: "I, like many people in the commune, know that Kon Brong village was chosen by the commune to build a new rural village. When the commune launched a clean-up campaign, we went to the village to contribute a small part to help the people in Kon Brong village to beautify the landscape and clean up the village roads and alleys."

Together with the people, socio-political organizations have promoted their role and mobilized members to help Kon Brong village build a new rural area. Ms. Phan Thi Hiep - President of the Women's Union of Ngok Wang commune shared that in order to contribute to bringing Kon Brong village to the new rural area finish line according to the roadmap and plan, the Union has assigned members to regularly participate in cleaning and sanitizing village roads and alleys, and at the same time helping disadvantaged members to develop the economy and escape poverty.

Kon Brong village meets new rural standards by 2024.

Mr. A Son - Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of Kon Brong Village said that Kon Brong Village has a favorable location in the center connecting trade with 4 villages (Dak Duong Village, Village 7, Kon Gu I Village and Kon Jo Ri Village). In addition, the village has a concentrated investment in infrastructure (educational, cultural, physical training and sports facilities), which is very convenient for people to access; the labor force comes from many regions and has experience in agricultural production. On the other hand, the sloping land is suitable for developing industrial crops with high economic value.

In addition to the village's advantages, the village management board has also stepped up propaganda work to raise people's awareness of new rural construction. With the motto of "mobilizing local resources", since the beginning of the year, the village has organized more than 20 village meetings, with over 1,800 people participating.

Along with that, the village has organized many practical activities such as: Organizing the campaign at the beginning of the year; regularly organizing environmental sanitation campaigns, dredging irrigation canal systems for irrigation; renovating houses, gates, making green fences, renovating mixed gardens; building economic development models; mobilizing contributions and support for eliminating temporary houses during the year; mobilizing people to actively respond and participate in contributing money, labor days, donating land, assets on land... to invest in construction works during the year.

Kon Brong village has changed dramatically thanks to the joint efforts to build a new countryside.

To increase income and reduce poverty for people, the village management board has coordinated with the village's departments and unions to focus on guiding people to promote production development and change the structure of crops and livestock. Encourage the development of hill garden economic models; invest in intensive farming and expand the area of fruit trees; encourage people to borrow capital to develop their family economy. Register people to attend training courses and transfer science and technology; take advantage of abandoned, unused land and ineffective rice fields to grow short-term medicinal plants (ginger, turmeric, polyscias fruticosa); encourage households to intercrop fruit trees with high economic value (durian, tangerine, orange...) in coffee and pepper gardens to create more income for households.

Up to now, the average income per capita in the village has reached 40.5 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate has decreased to 5.92%.

As one of the pioneer households in converting cassava growing area to fruit tree growing, Ms. Y Nga (36 years old, Dak Duong village) boldly converted 5 sao of her family's cassava growing land to grow coffee and pomelos.

Ms. Y Nga's coffee garden intercropped with fruit trees brings in high income.

Ms. Y Nga said that 5 sao of land growing cassava brings in an income of more than 10 million VND per year. In 2015, with the encouragement of the local government, along with listening to news from other localities, seeing people getting rich from growing coffee, she boldly switched to investing in growing coffee. By 2016, seeing that the coffee garden was healthy, Ms. Y Nga continued to intercrop with tangerine and cassia trees.

After many years of hard work, Ms. Y Nga has now reaped the rewards. After deducting all expenses, every year, her family's coffee garden with tangerines and oranges brings in more than 50 million VND in revenue, 5 times more than growing cassava.

Mr. Ngo Tan Khoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngok Wang commune informed that in the past time, in order to bring Kon Brong village to the new rural village status as planned, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the People's Committee of the commune, socio-political organizations and local people have united and contributed to building green, clean and beautiful village roads and alleys, supporting each other to develop the economy, increase income, and escape poverty sustainably. In the coming time, the commune will continue to connect resources to support people, help people's lives develop more and more, and build other villages and hamlets to be more spacious and prosperous.
