The Hill newspaper reported on October 16 that billionaire Elon Musk had personally donated at least $75 million (VND1,872 billion) to a political action committee supporting former US President Donald Trump.
Mr Musk has been publicly supporting former President Trump for months, with his enthusiasm evident at a recent rally in Pennsylvania when he danced at the event.
Since being founded in July by the Tesla, SpaceX and X social media mogul, America PAC has launched aggressive voter outreach initiatives in battleground states and is believed to have hired hundreds of staff.

Over the past few months, the committee has pumped more than $102.2 million into the presidential race, with tens of millions of dollars going to support Mr. Trump and attack his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.
In another development, US President Joe Biden harshly criticized Mr. Trump, calling him a loser and arguing that the former president ran for re-election to avoid going to prison.
"There are more workers in America today than at any time since Trump left office, that's a fact," Biden said in remarks at a Philadelphia City Council dinner on October 15.
Mr Biden accused Mr Trump of being “dishonest” and referred to his predecessor’s 34 felony convictions related to falsifying business records to hide a relationship with an adult film actress during the 2016 campaign.
Trump's dance
The White House boss also recalled Mr. Trump's actions when campaigning in Pennsylvania on the evening of October 15. "He stood on stage for 30 minutes and danced. I'm serious. What's wrong with this guy?", President Biden said.
Additionally, Mr. Biden spoke of Ms. Harris' loyalty when her own campaign did not criticize him.
"Every president has to forge his own path. That's what I did. I was loyal to Barack Obama but I charted my own path as president. That's what Kamala is going to do," he said.
According to AFP, Ms. Harris' campaign also mentioned that Mr. Trump's campaign event seemed to turn into a music event and Mr. Trump seemed "lost, confused and motionless on stage."

Responding to the above statement, former President Trump said that his event in Pennsylvania was "very different".
"The Q&A was almost over and everyone was starting to faint from excitement and heat. We started playing music while we waited. It was different but ended up being a great evening," he wrote on Truth Social.
He criticized Vice President Harris' release of a White House medical report saying she was fit to serve in the highest office and challenged Mr Trump to do the same.
“With all the problems she has, there is a real question as to whether she should run for president. My report is perfect – no problems,” Trump wrote.
