At the Conference, delegates listened to reports, gave direct opinions, and approved the draft Report summarizing military and defense work in 2024; the draft Resolution on leadership in implementing tasks in 2025.
On the afternoon of December 9, in Hanoi, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense chaired the Central Military Commission Standing Committee Conference to review and give opinions on a number of contents.
Attending the conference were members of the Central Military Commission: Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense.
Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense: Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, member of the Central Military Commission; Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam; Deputy Chiefs of the General Staff, Deputy Directors of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and representatives of leaders and commanders of general departments and functional agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense.
Appreciating the quality of the preparation of the report contents of the agencies and functional units as well as the opinions of the delegates at the Conference, General Phan Van Giang requested the agencies to synthesize and absorb the maximum contributions to continue to supplement and complete the drafts, focusing on the Summary Report on Military and Defense Work in 2024; the draft Resolution on leadership in the implementation of military and defense tasks and Party building of the Army in 2025.
General Phan Van Giang noted that the reports need to be concise and highly general, highlighting the results achieved in the implementation of military and defense tasks of the entire army in 2024, including the work of adjusting the organization, staffing, and merging some focal units; presenting lessons learned and solutions and measures in leadership and direction to successfully carry out military and defense tasks in 2025 and the coming time.
Regarding the plan to organize the Central Military Commission Conference (12th session) and the Military-Political Conference of the entire army in 2024, General Phan Van Giang requested that functional agencies closely coordinate with agencies and units outside the Army to do a good job of preparing in all aspects, ensuring that the conference takes place solemnly, successfully, and safely in all aspects.
Along with the above contents, the Conference also reviewed the leadership and direction results in 2024 of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee and conducted self-criticism and criticism in 2024 for the Central Military Commission Standing Committee members in the Army and the Central Military Commission members who are Deputy Ministers of National Defense.

In addition, the Conference reviewed and approved the report on the results of the implementation of the Emulation Movement for Victory in 2024, the direction and tasks for 2025; the report on the results of the implementation of the following aspects of work: finance, investment and construction, military forces, management and use of national defense land, petroleum, production labor, economic construction and the results of technical work in 2024./.
