On March 26, residents in alley 3, Phuong Canh street (Xuan Phuong ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi) reported that a series of cars parked in this area had their windshield wipers stolen during the night.

Mr. Le Van Tung (47 years old, one of the victims) said that thieves targeted Honda and Toyota cars, while other brands were not "visited".

According to Mr. Tung, the thief stole more than 10 wipers on the night of March 25 and early morning of March 26. Each pair of wipers is worth between 3 and 5 million VND.

The theft was recorded by a family's security camera. Immediately after the incident, the victims quickly reported it to the police.

A clip taken from a security camera shows that at around 2am on March 26, the thief, wearing a hat, mask, and blue shirt, carried tools to approach the car and remove the wiper blades. The theft only lasted about 30 seconds.

Car wiper blades are no longer uncommon in big cities. Many people are concerned that some stores are willing to sell stolen items while consumers are willing to buy them back.

Speaking to VietNamNet reporter, a police officer of Xuan Phuong ward said that he had received information about the incident and was verifying, clarifying, and arresting the subject.

A series of cars in Dong Nai had their mirrors stolen . Ly Thanh My was identified as the subject who carried out a series of car mirror thefts in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai.
