On July 21, 2023, Jeonbuk Center for Creative Economic Innovation (JBCCEI), Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB) and Korea-Vietnam Trade Promotion Center KORETOVIET announced the event of Korea-Vietnam Multi-industry Exhibition MEGA US EXPO and Student Startup Idea Competition UNIV.STAR 2023.

MEGA US EXPO 2023 is a high-end multi-industry exhibition where Korean and Vietnamese exhibitors approach customers who are businesses, importers... and will take place on August 30 and 31 in Ho Chi Minh City. This event is not only a bridge for economic cooperation between the two countries but also promotes the spirit of entrepreneurship, introducing and supporting new products and solutions to the market.

With the message “Leading the way for business integration”, MEGA US EXPO 2023 will be a place for exhibitors to access a network of business partners and consumers, opening up comprehensive cooperation opportunities. The organizers said the exhibition event with 130 booths is expected to attract 8,000 visitors and create 1,000 business connections.

According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, this is one of the activities aimed at enhancing cooperation activities to promote innovative start-ups of the two countries to the market; promoting the entrepreneurial spirit of Vietnamese students; Strengthening support activities for businesses in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general, searching for and applying technology from Korea to serve production; forming a joint cooperation program in project incubation activities, start-up businesses.
Within the framework of the event, the Final Round of the Korean-Vietnamese Student Startup Idea Competition UNIV.STAR 2023 was also held with the aim of helping young people bring unique startup and innovation ideas to have the opportunity to become reality.

Currently, UNIV.STAR has received the attention of students across the country with a prize value of up to 200 million VND and the opportunity to meet and exchange with large investment funds during the competition. On this occasion, SIHUB also signed a cooperation agreement with the Startup Support Center of Jeonbuk National University in innovative startup activities.
It is known that KORETOVIET Trade Promotion Center and SIHUB are the implementing units for both MEGA US EXPO Exhibition and UNIV.STAR Competition 2023. Operating under the auspices of the Korean Government agency, KORETOVIET has been organizing many activities to promote Korea - Vietnam trade as well as support the startup ecosystem of the two countries in recent times.
