On the afternoon of November 11, within the framework of his visit and work in Thanh Hoa, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Central Delegation had a working session with the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on the socio-economic situation, national defense and security, Party building work and the political system since the beginning of the 19th Provincial Party Congress term; and tasks in the coming time.

Reporting to the Prime Minister and the working delegation, Mr. Do Minh Tuan, Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that since the beginning of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, despite many difficulties and challenges, with the solidarity of the people, Thanh Hoa province has achieved many important and comprehensive results in all fields.

Specifically, the average annual growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the 2021-2023 period is estimated at 9.69%, ranking 5th in the country and 3rd in the group of 10 provinces and cities with the largest economic scale in the country.

The scale of GRDP in 2023 is estimated at 279,074 billion VND, 1.5 times higher than in 2020, ranking 8th in the country. GRDP per capita in 2023 is estimated at 3,144 USD, 1.42 times higher than in 2020.

The economic structure has shifted positively (the proportion of the industrial and construction sector accounts for 48.4%; services account for 31.8%; agriculture accounts for 13.8%). The export value of goods in 2023 is estimated at 5.1 billion USD, 1.39 times higher than in 2020. In the period of 2021-2023, it is estimated to welcome 26.5 million tourists, an average increase of 17.8%/year; total tourism revenue is estimated at 49,266 billion VND, an average increase of 32.5%/year.

In the 2021-2023 period, Thanh Hoa has established 10,700 new enterprises, ranking 7th in the country. To date, the province has 143 valid FDI projects, with a total registered investment capital of 14.7 billion USD, ranking first in the North Central provinces and 8th in the country in attracting FDI.

State budget revenue has increased sharply, always exceeding the estimate every year; total budget revenue for the 2021-2023 period is estimated at VND 132,418 billion, of which in 2022 it will reach VND 51,173 billion, the highest ever and ranking 9th in the country.

Promoting the results achieved in the first half of the 2020-2025 term, Thanh Hoa province has agreed on 10 key groups of tasks and solutions to continue to successfully implement in the coming time, striving to turn Thanh Hoa into a new growth pole in the North of the country by 2025; by 2030, it will become a modern industrial province, with people having a higher standard of living than the national average.

To achieve the above tasks, Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan requested the Prime Minister and ministries, branches and central agencies to pay attention to helping, supporting and introducing domestic and foreign investors to invest in Thanh Hoa; especially introducing foreign investors to invest in the fields of high technology, digital transformation, electronics, semiconductor industry, renewable energy, new energy; aircraft maintenance and repair services, healthcare, education - training, etc.

In the coming time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Thanh Hoa to maintain, consolidate and promote solidarity, unity, and unity; thoroughly grasp and effectively implement resolutions and policies of the Party and the National Assembly. Maximize the province's unique potentials, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages. Build a team of cadres who are up to the task; mobilize the strength of the entire people; maintain national defense and security without surprises; achieve the goal of rapid, sustainable, inclusive, and comprehensive development, leaving no one behind.

The Prime Minister noted that the key tasks and solutions in the coming time are to focus on promoting three growth drivers (investment, export, consumption), boosting production, business, creating jobs and livelihoods for people; removing difficulties for businesses through access to land, capital, resolving administrative procedures and accessing the market.

Continue to strongly attract high-quality, high-tech, smart manufacturing FDI projects; at the same time, create all favorable conditions for the development of small and medium enterprises and supporting industries. Focus on developing high-tech agriculture, shifting the mindset of agricultural production to agricultural economics, developing domestic and foreign agricultural markets, etc.
