Chau Thanh is a district with a large Khmer ethnic population (accounting for nearly 50% of the district's population). This is also a district with 7/8 communes of ethnic minorities.
In recent times, the Party and the State have had many policies to care for ethnic minorities. With the attention and close direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, Chau Thanh district has concretized and implemented many policies for ethnic minorities, achieving many positive results. The rural appearance of the district's ethnic minority areas is increasingly prosperous; the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities has been significantly improved.
Sharing at the visit, Mr. Duong Van Tha, a prestigious person of Chau Thanh district, expressed his joy and honor to represent the monks, prestigious people, and Khmer people of Chau Thanh district to express his feelings and send sincere thanks to the leaders of the Ethnic Committee; provincial and district leaders who visited and wished the Khmer people of Chau Thanh district a happy Chol Chnam Thmay 2024.
Mr. Tha affirmed that in recent years, thanks to the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, programs and projects implemented in ethnic minority areas in Chau Thanh district have created high consensus among ethnic minority people. In addition to investment in essential infrastructure, people have been supported with housing, career change, and livelihood diversification, thereby helping them take care of their business and develop the economy.
At the visit, New Year greetings, acknowledging and appreciating the efforts of the Party Committee, government and ethnic people of Chau Thanh district, on behalf of the leaders of the Ethnic Committee, Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Nong Thi Ha respectfully sent to the Venerable Monks, Venerable Monks, Venerable Monks, and prestigious people in the district her warm feelings and warm greetings.
Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha respectfully wished the monks, all Khmer people, comrades, cadres and soldiers in the district a healthy and peaceful Chol Chnam Thmay season.
In the morning of the same day, Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha and the delegation of the Ethnic Committee visited and wished a Happy New Year to monks at Buol Pres Phek Pagoda (also known as Four-Faced Pagoda) in Chau Thanh district and visited rattan and bamboo weaving establishments in the district.
During the visit and greetings on Chol Chnam Thmay 2024 in Soc Trang, Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha and the delegation of the Ethnic Committee presented gifts to 100 prestigious Khmer ethnic delegates in the districts of Chau Thanh, My Tu, and Ke Sach.
