Reporting at the conference, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong affirmed that in the 2023-2024 school year, the capital's education sector achieved comprehensive results at all levels and fields of study, successfully completing key contents and tasks.
The whole city has 2,913 kindergartens and primary schools, an increase of 39 schools compared to the same period last school year, with nearly 2.3 million students and nearly 130,000 teachers.
Students in the capital ranked first in the country with 184 students winning prizes in the national excellent student selection exam, 43 students higher than in 2023; many students won prizes in international competitions, especially 2 students won 2 Gold Medals in Biology and Chemistry Olympiads...
The results of the high school graduation exam of the city's students this year continued to have a strong change with 99.81% of students graduating, an increase of 0.25% and 5 ranks compared to 2023 (from 16th place to 11th place.
Hanoi is the locality with the most 10-point exams in the country with 915 10-point exams, one candidate achieved the highest total exam score in the country (57.85 points).

Focus all resources to improve the quality of education in the capital
At the conference, representatives of a number of Departments of Education and Training and schools reported on the results achieved in the 2023-2024 school year and affirmed their determination to successfully complete the tasks of the 2024-2025 school year.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that the results were achieved thanks to the efforts of the management staff, the dedication and responsibility of the teachers and staff, the studious spirit of the capital's students, and the leadership attention of the city's Party Committee and government.
The 2024-2025 school year is an important year to synchronously and completely implement the 2018 general education program. Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong suggested that the Hanoi Department of Education and Training continue to pay attention to a number of contents such as: Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education, promoting direction, innovating teaching methods and testing and evaluation.
Recognizing and appreciating the important results achieved by the capital's education and training sector, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that, with the spirit of considering education and training as the top national policy, the City Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee always identify fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, improving the quality of human resources, and building elegant and civilized Hanoians as particularly important tasks, which have decisive significance for the sustainable development of the capital Hanoi in the future.
The city has focused all resources on investing in facilities, building a team of teachers, educational managers, etc. to comprehensively improve the quality of education in the capital.
To complete the tasks of the 2024-2025 school year, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh suggested that the Hanoi Education and Training sector focus on closely following the direction and guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training, the City Party Committee, the People's Council, and the City People's Committee to deploy tasks and best prepare for the new school year; along with developing the scale, continue to have solutions to improve the quality of comprehensive education; gradually build the capital Hanoi into a truly large, typical center of the whole country in high-quality education and training.
At the conference, leaders of Hanoi City, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training presented Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit to units and individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 school year.
On this occasion, in order to spread the meaning of the study drum and contribute to building a learning society in the capital, through the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the Marie-Curie Education System presented 70 drums to units and schools in the city.
