More localities announce third exam subject for grade 10: Some provinces choose History

TPO - Up to this point, the third subject in the first 10th grade entrance exam under the 2018 General Education Program has been announced by many localities.

Ha Giang Department of Education and Training has just officially announced the third subject of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training has selected the third subject in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year. The three subjects include: Math, Literature, and History - Geography.

Candidates register for the entrance exam to specialized high schools in 4 subjects: Math, Literature, History - Geography (non-specialized) and specialized subject, the exam content ensures the selection of students with talent in that specialized subject.

Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh province informed that English will be the third subject of this exam, in addition to the two compulsory subjects of Math and Literature.

The reason most provinces and cities choose English is to motivate and encourage students to increase their foreign language learning in the context of international integration and to make English the second language in schools.

Early announcement also helps schools proactively plan teaching and review from the second semester, creating a comfortable and favorable mindset for both students and parents.

The Department of Education and Training of Bac Kan, Lam Dong, and Lang Son provinces also announced that the third subject of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year in the area is English.

For Hanoi, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has not yet announced the third exam subject for the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year.
