On May 21, according to information from the People's Committee of Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province, an outbreak of African swine fever appeared in Lien Vi commune.
Specifically, according to the owner of the livestock farm in Dinh 1 village, Lien Vi commune, from May 13 to 17, the family's herd of 6 pigs showed signs of illness, loss of appetite, scattered fatigue, red skin rash, suspected symptoms of African swine fever. The family reported to the local authorities.
Immediately after receiving the report from the people, the Agricultural Service Center of Quang Yen town coordinated with the Veterinary Department of Region II, Hai Phong, to take samples for testing. The test results were positive for African swine fever.

The People's Committee of Quang Yen town has directed specialized agencies to coordinate in destroying the infected pigs according to regulations. At the same time, they have instructed families with infected pigs on measures to disinfect and sterilize to prevent the disease from spreading widely.
At the same time, set up checkpoints to cordon off all entrances and exits of the commune, not allowing pigs to be transported in and out of the epidemic area; Place signs at the entrances and exits of the epidemic villages; Closely monitor pig farming activities; Organize the sprinkling of lime powder and spraying of disinfectants on the roads leading to households with sick pigs; Spray disinfectant twice a day in pig pens to destroy pathogens.
In order to prevent the disease from spreading widely, the People's Committee of Quang Yen town requested communes and wards in the area to increase information and propaganda about African swine fever so that people can clearly understand and proactively take measures to prevent the disease.
Previously, according to information from the Agricultural Technical Service Center of Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province, an outbreak of African swine fever appeared in Tien Phong commune, Quang Yen town. That was the herd of pigs of Mr. LVK's family, in village 1, Tien Phong commune, including 12 pigs (1 sow and 11 piglets).
Local authorities and relevant agencies have taken necessary measures as prescribed to prevent the spread of the disease .
