Timely handle violations if any
On September 21, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said it is implementing the conclusion of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Khac Toan at the August meeting.
According to the above announcement, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee requested to strictly handle the violations pointed out after the inspection at the center, and at the same time requested the Provincial People's Committee to consider a comprehensive inspection of the selection, training and management of athletes in sports at this unit. Thereby promptly handling violations (if any), consolidating the organization and apparatus, creating a new step for the development of physical education and sports in the province, in accordance with the set goals.

The move was made after the Inspectorate of the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture and Sports recently pointed out a series of violations by Khanh Hoa youth football coaches, from U.15 to U.21. In particular, Coach Nguyen Ty of U.17 and Dang Dao of U.19 controlled bank cards, kept food and salary money of athletes, causing a loss of hundreds of millions of VND in state assets. Recently, the center has disciplined the two coaches by forcing them to quit their jobs.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nhuan, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Culture and Sports, said that the comprehensive inspection at the center will be directly handled by the Provincial Inspectorate. However, the time of the inspection has not been determined.
Also according to Mr. Nhuan, after the Department's inspection conclusion on the selection, management and use of athletes for teams from U.15 to U.21 at the center, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police worked with the Department of Culture and Sports Inspectorate regarding the violations of Mr. Dao and Mr. Ty.

The above center is under the Department of Culture and Sports, located on Nguyen Khuyen Street, Vinh Hai Ward, Nha Trang City, and is responsible for selecting, managing and using athletes with the aim of discovering talented athletes for systematic training and coaching to achieve high results.
Based on the regulations on selection, management and use of athletes of the center and the Decision of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa, the selection, management and use of athletes for all sports is carried out 4 times a year and the center is assigned as the unit to manage and use athletes. Athletes who have signed contracts will receive monthly wages and meals according to regulations.
Currently, the center is training, coaching and competing for 22 teams of all levels in 13 sports, including: athletics, football (U.11, U.13, U.15, U.17, U.19, U.21 and beach soccer), table tennis, taekwondo, karate, traditional martial arts (combat and boxing), volleyball (indoor and beach), dance sports, kick boxing, muay, weightlifting, vovinam and bodybuilding with hundreds of athletes.
Thus, a comprehensive inspection of the center will include the following contents: Implementation of the athlete selection plan and athlete selection process; implementation of signing contracts, termination of contracts with athletes and dismissal from the center; athletes receiving food and wages at the center; implementation of the training transfer process; implementation of rewards and discipline for athletes; responsibilities of related individuals and organizations...

Every year, Khanh Hoa spends tens of billions of dong to train high-performance athletes. However, in recent years, the province’s sports have not been able to produce outstanding athletes in all sports at the national and regional levels as before.
According to the center’s leaders, for many years now, the dormitory for high-performance athletes has been overloaded and degraded. This has significantly affected the daily life, training, psychology, overall performance of the teams and the management of athletes.
In principle, athletes from the teams must stay together so that the coaches can easily manage and train them. However, with the current lack of accommodation and limited facilities, only athletes from other localities outside of Nha Trang City can stay at the center. For athletes whose families live in Nha Trang, to reduce the pressure on accommodation, the center has created conditions for them to stay at home and their families will pick them up and take care of them.
