Regarding the irregularities in the 10th grade entrance exam scores after the re-examination, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province issued Decision No. 1234/QD-UBND on the temporary suspension of Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training, from July 31 to serve the inspection of the organization of the 10th grade high school entrance exam.
The period of suspension from work is 15 days.

This decision is based on legal provisions and opinions of the Standing Committee of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee, and proposal of the Department of Home Affairs.
According to the content of the decision, during the inspection period, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien is responsible for providing full information and relevant documents as requested by the Head of the inspection team and competent authorities, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
In addition, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province also issued Decision No. 1236/QD-UBND assigning Mr. Pham Van Nghiem, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, to be in charge of operating the Department of Education and Training during the time Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien is temporarily suspended from work.

Previously, Thanh Nien Newspaper published an article about parents denouncing irregularities in the 10th grade entrance exam scores in Thai Binh, reflecting that many candidates had a math score of 3, but after the review, the result was raised to 9 points. Notably, there was a candidate who won second prize in math in the provincial excellent student exam but the math score for the 10th grade entrance exam was only 5.5 points; the math review result of the male student was 9.5 points...
This result made many parents angry, saying that the exam results did not truly reflect the students' abilities.
Public opinion questioned the marking of this exam.
After the incident was reported by Thanh Nien Newspaper and many other press agencies, on July 30, the Provincial People's Committee issued a document requesting the provincial inspectorate to conduct a surprise inspection of the implementation of legal policies, duties and powers of the Department of Education and Training, the Director of the Department of Education and Training and related organizations and individuals in organizing the 10th grade entrance exam.
Thai Binh Provincial Inspectorate has established an inspection team of 11 members and a monitoring team of 3 members to carry out the above tasks.
The inspection period is 20 days.
