At around 7am, the Coral Princess cruise ship docked at Cam Ranh International Port, Khanh Hoa Province, carrying 2,300 tourists. Leaders of Khanh Hoa Province's Department of Tourism presented flowers to the crew and the first passengers at the pier.
The group will be divided into several groups to visit Nha Trang and other tourist attractions in the city in one day organized by Tan Hong Company. In addition, the group will also visit Wyndham Grand KN Paradise Cam Ranh Resort (Bai Dai - Cam Ranh) and have free time to visit. In the afternoon of the same day, the group will board a ship to Hong Kong (China).

Coral Princess is operated by Princess Cruises (part of Carnival Corporation & plc, USA). The ship was built in 2002, worth 360 million USD, launched in January 2003, most recently refurbished in 2019, longer than 294m, nearly 62m high, with a capacity of about 2,900 people, a tonnage of 91,627GT, is one of the most modern, luxurious and comfortable cruise ships in the world today.
Mr. Do Thanh Long - Director of Hai Dang Nha Trang Maritime Agency Co., Ltd., said that this is one of the 3 ships that the unit plans to receive at the end of 2024. Previously, this unit had 7 ships canceled after the news that Nha Trang Port (Nha Trang City) temporarily stopped receiving international cruise ships from September 20 for repairs.
Hai Dang Agency has coordinated with relevant units to discuss with Princess Cruises, and this shipping line agreed to let the Coral Princess ship arrive at Cam Ranh International Port, the travel agency will take care of taking tourists to Nha Trang.

Cam Ranh International Port has modern facilities, including 2 wharves that can receive passenger ships up to 226,000GT, convenient for large international ships to dock and anchor. Passengers on board do not have to transfer. However, Cam Ranh International Port is far from the center of Nha Trang City (about 60km), the travel time to and from by road is about 3-4 hours, incurring additional costs and procedures when the Port is located in a military control area.
To "solve difficulties" in cruise tourism, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee recently issued a document requesting Naval Region 4 to pay attention to supporting provincial departments, branches and sectors, Tan Cang - Petro Cam Ranh Company Limited and tourism businesses to participate in welcoming and serving cruise tourists to Cam Ranh International Port conveniently and quickly. Tan Cang - Petro Cam Ranh Company Limited also worked with Naval Region 4 Command to create a "clear" way to pick up and drop off passengers in and out of the Port; participate in free transportation of passengers from the port to tourist areas in Cam Ranh for those who do not go on tours; and partially support the costs incurred by travel businesses organizing tours for passengers.
To date, Khanh Hoa has welcomed 27 international cruise ships with more than 55,500 tourists coming ashore for sightseeing. This is considered a positive signal for the recovery and development of Vietnam's cruise tourism activities, contributing to the success of Khanh Hoa's tourism industry.
In the first 9 months of 2024, Khanh Hoa welcomed about 9 million overnight guests, an increase of 57.9% over the same period in 2023, reaching 100% of the 2024 plan. In the last months of 2024, the province aims to attract 1-2 million overnight guests, bringing the total number of visitors to the locality in 2024 to over 10 million./.
