In order to promote rice production and export activities, take advantage of market opportunities, and contribute to promoting economic growth in the last months of 2023, the Prime Minister requested the ministers of the ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Foreign Affairs and the chairmen of provincial and municipal People's Committees to focus on implementing tasks and solutions to promote rice production and export.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to preside over the diversification of rice export markets and flexibly implement trade promotion activities to maintain and consolidate traditional rice export markets such as the Philippines, China, Indonesia, and the African region, and develop new, potential markets and FTA markets; exploit niche markets with fragrant rice and high-quality rice.
Along with that, promote market research, evaluate and forecast import demand and the ability to conduct rice trade promotion; promptly update information for the Vietnam Food Association and rice exporters.

The Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to preside over and promote the activities of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in grasping market information, supporting rice exporters; connecting trade, and coordinating to promote Vietnamese rice brands and products.
For localities, the Prime Minister's telegram clearly stated that it is necessary to organize the implementation of rice production planning and rice production to improve quality, meet domestic demand and export.
Closely monitor the activities of rice export traders, coordinate closely to proactively remove difficulties and obstacles in rice export, especially in the face of increasing technical barriers and food safety; promptly report and propose solutions to arising problems.
The Vietnam Food Association strengthens information on the world rice market situation as well as the needs of partners; proactively proposes trade promotion programs to markets and approaches for each specific market, contributing to promoting the image and brand of Vietnamese rice products.
