Heaven's recovery went smoothly. |
The 18-year-old Red Devils' new signing played well against Leicester but had to be carried off on a stretcher in the second half after a collision with striker Patson Daka. On March 18, Heaven updated his condition on Instagram. He wrote: "Thank you everyone for your support! I read all the messages. The recovery is going very well and quickly."
The extent of Heaven's injury is not yet known, but the centre-back will be out for a while. He joined MU from Arsenal in the winter transfer window and impressed in four appearances for the "Red Devils".
Heaven's injury has further worsened the Red Devils' defensive situation. The team is left with only two experienced central defenders, Victor Lindelof and Matthijs de Ligt, along with versatile defender Noussair Mazraoui.
Coach Ruben Amorim appreciates Heaven's talent: "I really like his confidence. I also like Ayden's speed, and I think he defends the box very well. But Ayden still has a lot to do in the Premier League environment. We will face different players and he will be challenged in different ways. We are trying to control this because he is still very young."
MU is on a 4-match unbeaten streak in all competitions. Despite being in good spirits, the "Red Devils" still have to take a break to make way for the FIFA Days series. This is also a valuable time for Heaven to recover and return to competition soon.
MU will visit Nottingham Forest on April 2 in round 30 of the Premier League.
