According to a reputable leaker on Weibo, Digital Chat Station, Sony is developing a brand new 200MP camera sensor designed to be used as the main camera on smartphones. Notably, the sensor is said to be "slightly larger" than 1/1.3 inches, surpassing Samsung's current 200MP sensor. This promises better light capture, thereby improving photo quality.

While 200MP resolution may not make a noticeable difference in image detail compared to lower-resolution sensors in normal conditions, it will significantly improve 2x and 3x zoom image quality, with almost no loss of detail.
