On April 25, 2023, Vietravel Quang Ninh organized the Ha Long Free Walking Tour program. This is the first walking tour product to explore Ha Long City deployed by a travel agency. Reporter of Quang Ninh Media Center interviewed Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc, Director of Vietravel Quang Ninh Branch about this new tourism product.

- Please tell me the product Ha Long Free Walking Tour (FWT) What is different from existing tourism products? is being exploited by Vietravel and other travel agencies. in Ha Long?

+ FWT is Vietravel's pioneering project in introducing tourists to a different perspective on tourist destinations, historical sites, and scenic spots. This is a completely free tour program combined with walking, tourists will have interesting experiences that other forms of tourism do not have.

The program has the theme "Enjoying the sunset on the shore of heritage", introducing visitors to a new perspective, increasing more interesting, deeper and more everyday experiences for tourists when coming to Ha Long City as well as Quang Ninh province.

Vietravel's FWT project is considered the first and only free tourism model in the travel industry to connect the lives and cultures of localities with tourists, especially international tourists.

FWT helps tourists “slow down” to be able to see, feel and experience the life of the locals in a “local” way on every route they pass. FWT was born with the desire to become a bridge connecting local culture with tourists, helping tourists discover more culture, history and a good opportunity to promote the image of the country and the life of the Vietnamese people in general and Ha Long, Quang Ninh in particular. At the same time, FWT is also a positive step in Vietravel’s community activities, worthy of the Vietravel brand that has been trusted and chosen by customers.

- It is known that, FWT is a product that has been deployed by Vietravel since 2017, after a period of interruption the product has been resumed . Compared to the 2017 version, FWT What's different about 2023? Why did Vietravel choose 2023 to reopen this tour?

+ Launched in 2017, the FWT project has received positive reviews, and at the same time contributed to introducing the beautiful image of Vietnam to domestic and international tourists. From the initial successes, the project continued to be improved and relaunched with many new and more attractive features with many different products in localities where Vietravel's companies and branches are located, such as: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Can Tho, Vung Tau, Da Lat, Hai Phong.

After a temporary suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2023, when tourism activities are fully reopened, it will also mark the return of Inbound tourists, with a large number of international tourists coming to major cities in Vietnam and Quang Ninh province. This product will help foreign tourists and out-of-town visitors to learn and experience more deeply the history, culture and landscape of Ha Long.

On this occasion, Vietravel Quang Ninh officially reopened FWT, hoping to introduce the image of the beautiful coastal city of Ha Long to tourists. This is an activity in the series of major holidays on April 30 and May 1, which is also the peak of Ha Long tourism, contributing to creating a new tourism product, diversifying the existing tourism products of Ha Long, Quang Ninh.

- Why Ha Long is suitable for tourism products sightseeing walking combination?

+ With the criteria of choosing a route suitable for many unique attractions that are not yet known to many people, Ha Long is currently a great choice for this product. Ha Long is famous for the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay, with a beautiful coastal road system and many attractive entertainment areas.

The beautiful coastal route is a convenient condition for tourists to both walk and explore Ha Long.

In addition, Ha Long also has historical and spiritual sites that many people do not know about even though they have visited many times. The interesting thing about Ha Long FWT is that visitors will experience many values on one journey. "Enjoying the sunset on the shore of heritage" is a product that helps visitors learn about the heroic history and culture of the nation through spiritual sites, such as: Bai Tho Mountain Cultural Center, Duc Ong Tran Quoc Nghien Temple.

At these destinations, visitors can listen to explanations about the history of the name of Bai Tho Mountain, especially admire the ancient poems carved on the mountain, admire the beauty of Ha Long Bay from Bai Tho Bridge, watch the sunset on the most beautiful coastal road in Ha Long, watch the fishing boats of fishermen going up and down the Bay and explore the unique architectural works of the province such as the Provincial Museum - Library, Planning Palace, Provincial Fair and Exhibition or Hai Thinh Lake and more, directly meet and interact with the daily life of Ha Long people on the shore of Ha Long Bay.

- Through those trip First, how have visitors responded to this new product?

+ After the first tours, we realized that both Vietnamese and international tourists, although they had been to Ha Long many times, had never walked to explore the historical sites on the most beautiful coastal route in Ha Long. Tourists were very happy to experience this form of tourism.

With FWT, visitors can explore the historical and cultural relics of Ha Long City.

When asked about their feelings, visitors all shared the same feeling that it was interesting to explore life on the shores of Ha Long Bay in a very different way.

With positive feedback from tourists, Vietravel Quang Ninh will continue to maintain the FWT itinerary every Saturday afternoon, learn more about the historical information of the destinations, train a team of knowledgeable and professional tour guides to bring tourists great experiences when traveling in Ha Long. We will also focus on communication work, introducing the program to more and more tourists so that they know about the program, so that all tourists have the opportunity to explore a truly different Ha Long with the spiritual and sightseeing travel itinerary of Ha Long.

Currently, this program is quite attractive but because it is new and not many people know about it, we really hope that through mass media, more tourists will know about, participate in and experience the program.

In the future, Vietravel is expected to research and develop more similar products to contribute to enriching tourism products for visitors in Ha Long.
