According to the document, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City decided to adjust the Lunar New Year holiday 2025 for preschool education, general education and continuing education in the area from January 23, 2025 (December 24) to February 2, 2025 (January 5).
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training assigned heads of educational institutions to proactively develop their unit's plans based on the following principles: ensuring sufficient teaching, learning, testing, and evaluation time; completing the school's educational plan for the 2024-2025 school year according to regulations.
The head of the unit needs to create favorable conditions and resolve issues reasonably and equitably for students who do not reside in the city during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of December 13, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, chief of office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that Ho Chi Minh City adjusted the Tet holiday for students from 9 days to 11 days, adding 2 days off before Tet to create conditions for students to participate in a traditional national activity, the family tomb-sweeping ceremony.
"For students who follow their parents back to their hometowns during Tet, if they encounter difficulties with transportation or their hometowns are far away and need to take a few more days off, heads of units need to be flexible in resolving this for these students. As long as the school ensures enough time for teaching, learning, testing, and evaluation;
Complete the unit's education plan for the 2024-2025 school year as prescribed. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has assigned heads of educational institutions to proactively develop their own unit's education plan," Mr. Minh affirmed.
