According to information from the Department of Business Registration Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment, nearly 140 thousand enterprises were newly established and returned to operation in the first 7 months of this year.
According to the Department of Business Registration Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment, in the first 7 months of 2024, the number of newly established and returning enterprises was about 139,500, while 125,500 enterprises withdrew from the market.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of newly established enterprises increased by 7.3% but registered capital decreased by 13%. The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the month reached 7.5 billion VND, down 17.6% compared to the previous month and down 18.9% compared to the same period last year.
According to the Department of Business Registration Management, the above figures reflect the "cautiousness" of the business community about business expansion plans.
In addition, the whole country also has more than 6,800 enterprises returning to operation, up 26.2% over the previous month and down 0.7% over the same period in 2023.
In July alone, the whole country had 14,700 newly established enterprises with registered capital of more than 110,000 billion VND, down 6.3% in the number of enterprises and down 22.8% in registered capital compared to June 2024.
In the first 7 months of 2024, the whole country had more than 95,200 newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of VND 854,600 billion, an increase of 6.3% in the number of enterprises and an increase of 2.4% in registered capital. Thus, the average registered capital of a newly established enterprise reached VND 9 billion, still down 3.6% compared to the same period in 2023.
If including the VND 919,200 billion of additional registered capital of more than 27,100 enterprises increasing capital, the total registered capital added to the economy in 7 months was VND 1,773.8 trillion, down 9.1% over the same period in 2023.
In addition, nearly 44,300 enterprises nationwide returned to operation, up 4.7% over the same period in 2023, bringing the total number of newly established and returning enterprises in the first 7 months of 2024 to nearly 139,500 enterprises, up 5.8% over the same period in 2023.
Thus, on average, more than 19,900 businesses are newly established and return to operation each month.
By economic sector, in the first 7 months, there were 919 newly established enterprises in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, down 2.8% compared to the same period last year. The industrial and construction sector had 22,400 enterprises, up 4.8% and 71,900 enterprises in the service sector, up 6.8%.
