On March 5, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh had a working session with Belarusian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou, to specify the contents of the cooperation agreement between Hanoi and Minsk in the period of 2024-2026.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou said that Vietnam is a friendly and open country in Southeast Asia, and the relationship between the two countries and the two capitals is developing strongly. Belarus wants to strengthen cooperation in all areas of sports, health, and trade with Vietnam.
During the recent visit of the Belarusian Prime Minister to Vietnam, the two capitals signed an agreement on bilateral friendship relations for the period 2024-2026. According to Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou, this is a solid foundation for the cooperation between the two capitals to go further in the coming time.
The Minsk City Executive Committee has currently developed a draft to implement this agreement in 2024. In the coming time, Minsk City will send a proposal to Hanoi on the content of the event plan. Some of the outstanding contents proposed include organizing Minsk Cultural Day in Hanoi, Hanoi Cultural Day in Minsk. The Ambassador also proposed having more works and locations symbolizing friendship in the capitals of each country.
Assessing the visit to Vietnam by the Belarusian Prime Minister as a good milestone, showing that Vietnam and Belarus are reliable and effective partners, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh said that this will be the basis for Hanoi to implement the cooperation agreement signed with Minsk city.
Currently, Hanoi is actively developing an annual plan of activities within the framework of the signed agreement, focusing on specific areas such as cultural exchange, cooperation for mutual development, etc.
The city has also assigned Hanoi departments, agencies and sectors to urgently implement the exchange of Hanoi delegations to Minsk, aiming to organize Hanoi Cultural Day in Minsk as well as study other cooperation proposals on cultural exchange, people-to-people exchange, trade promotion, etc.
Mr. Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that the city will create all conditions for the activities of the Belarus Embassy in Hanoi.
