The Vietnam U17 match schedule has received the attention of fans when on the morning of March 22, the Vietnam U17 team officially departed for Oman to begin an important training period, preparing for the 2025 AFC U17 Championship in Saudi Arabia. The tournament is an opportunity for Vietnam U17 to compete for a place in the 2025 AFC U17 World Cup, where Asia will have 9 places to participate, including host Qatar.

At the 2025 AFC U17 Championship, the top two teams in each group will qualify directly for the World Cup. After training and two rounds of screening, coach Roland has finalized the list of 26 players to participate in this training trip.

Notably, overseas Vietnamese player Thomas Mai Veeren (HV Quick) was not on the list of 26 players participating in the training trip. According to the plan, U17 Vietnam will have two quality friendly matches with U17 Oman on March 25 and 28.

These are important tests, helping young players get used to the pace of international competition, while also helping the coaching staff evaluate and adjust tactics.

Coach Cristiano Roland expressed his satisfaction with the progress of his players, especially the integration of new players. Coach Roland emphasized that the two friendly matches in Oman will be an opportunity for the whole team to have the best preparation for the 2025 AFC U17 Championship: "The most important thing is that I see confidence in each player. They have a good attitude, going in the right direction in the preparation process."

On March 29, U17 Vietnam will travel to Saudi Arabia to prepare for the challenges at the AFC U17 Championship. In the group stage, U17 Vietnam will face U17 Australia (April 4), U17 Japan (April 7) and U17 UAE (April 10).
